Would you?

If you knew next season was identical to this in terms of so many Monday night & midweek games, would you still buy your season ticket?
Blooming nightmare this season mate,I believe Villa haven't had a 3pm Saturday kick off in over a year now so at least we are not alone I guess.

It wouldn’t deter me as I am retired now and if truth be told I prefer midweek games these days as it gives an edge to otherwise mundane Monday or Tuesday nights in winter.

But…if I was still working and wasn’t getting home until near enough midnight with an alarm sounding at 6.30 a.m. and an hour’s drive to get to work and maybe kids to get ready for school before I left the house I would absolutely hate it.

And I would indeed question the wisdom of renewing my season ticket.

It wouldn’t surprise me , even the manager said a month or so ago that around 8th could be the best they achieve for a few years and the television structure dictates so 3pm Saturday will be more of a rarity.

Give it a couple of seasons and you will have
1 x game Friday night
1 X 12.30 Saturday game
1 X 3 Pm Saturday game ( for nostalgic reasons only )
1 X 5-30 Saturday game
1 X 8-00 Saturday game
1 X 12-30 Sunday game
1. X 2pm Sunday game
1 X 4 .30 Sunday game
1. X 8-00pm Sunday game
1 X Monday night game
This will be every week
It’s all down to TV and the American and far east markets

Sleep is overrated. Mine are all teenagers now, but I still don't need above 5 hours sleep...they had me trained.

I know I support a different club who is "new" in the PL this season, and you've had basically exactly the same fixtures season after season for years now.

But there's no way I'd give up by SC even though we're both been largely midtable this season (you kicking on now though!). It's about way more then the match: seeing friends, families, pubs before and after, a chance to travel across the country at away gameswatching them (usually lose), a sense of pride and identity.

The last min winners, the crazy comebacks, and the nervous 90 in the derby, the hope of a cup run, the stupid jokes you have with your mates about giving it all up and watching rugby or whatever when you've lost (again). The games you go down early to grab a pint because the footballs been so dire. Or the games you just look down at your feet wishing you were anywhere else.

Every season had all of those for me, not matter if it's midtable or if it's promotion chasing/ relegation viewing

Been trying to find a number for this season but in 2024, only 35% of PL games kicked off at Sat 3pm.

We've had 3 Sat 3pm kickoff this season with at most, TV dependent 2 more to come.

Its the wave of the future, apparently
