That theory would of course require PSG to pay us the full 50m upfront, while we pay for his replacement over 5 years

doesn’t work this way... in accounting for the profit it’s doesn’t matter when the cash comes in, only when the sale is made, which is day 1 of the sale. On a purchase, again doesn’t matter how we pay only that the payment fee (contract price) is amortised over the length of the contract and that is when it hits the profit and loss.. so in effect you have a full profit vs one year of a contract amortisation.

sorry just didn’t see anyone actually answer that point in the later posts. So factually Zat is right. Doesn’t mean he would make the deal as you would need to deliver that revenue from somewhere every year over the remainder of the contract .. which is hard to speculate on.

Hopefully any poor form or fitness now they will put down to his recent covid.

I think he has done enough for them to want him, especially if Mbappe goes.

So we claim all the profit in year 1, yet offset the sale over 5?
If that's how it works, then that's fine for year 1, but the next 4 years we have to amortise without the income as we have already accounted for it in year 1.
So either way, he wasn't correct when he said a 30M sale would allow us to buy a 150M player.

Its an accounting trick, that works to fool FFP, but it doesn't work when the repayments come out for the 150m player.

That is the issue with it but a easy way to off set the amortisation is to sell another player or earn more revenue.

I've watched Kean in about a dozen games this season and he has touched the ball less than 100 times in those games. Scores the odd goal to mask the fact he isn't a very good footballer.

"Scores the odd goal'...

In ligue 1 and the champions league

1838 mins played 14 goals scored.

So every 20 games he scores 14 goals.

Thats 27 goals over a season of 38 games.

He must be one of the most watched ex players we have. People seem fascinated by him. Poor old Bolassie scored today and yet nobody pays him the attention that Kean gets. Both are crap are they not?

People probably watching Kean so much to see if he is looking like he's improving with regular football. He's still young enough to develop into a top player where Bolassie is what he is, crap.
