So who gets the best part of the deal? Chicago with Ljungberg or Seattle with the college kid?

Depends - you get Freddie if you expect to make a run this year and you need a cranky, wily vet, go for the youth if you don't. It all depends on what your goals are.

That's why you see so many baseball teams dumping talent at this time of year as well - somebody wants to get the final part of the rotation they've been wanting all year, but you know they have to give up that hot AA prospect or two to get the deal done. My Cubs are shopping Fightin' Ted Lilly right now, and it appears The Riot may go with him to the Dodgers. It's a real characteristic of draft-based systems for new talent acquisition.

Just back from the Dynamo vs. Red Bulls match:

1) Henry & Angel will definitely light it up and that doesn't even include Kandji.

2) Great match. We miss a penalty. Henry misses a sitter. Palmer gets a straight red for Houston right before half which should have been yellow at most. Angel scores his second to put them ahead. Mullan scores in minute 90.

Unreal match.

24,750 in attendance.

Where do you all think the MLS expands to next? Atlanta? North Carolina?

Montreal. I don't think they ever plan on expanding to Atlanta, one of the worst pro sports towns out there.

There are still a lot of good soccer markets out there, St. Louis, Miami etc.

Marquez to NYRB official...

I think these are positive steps for MLS. I'll never like the guy, but he'll definitely attract interest in the league.

You know who's coaching the current Tampa Bay squad don't you?

Paul Dalglish. Did well for the Dynamo until injuries got to him.
