Made a mistake back in the early 2000's where he interfered with a catch in a key moment in the NLCS, which was viewed as the turning point in losing that series.
He was later vilified by Cubs fans and had to be put under police protection.
I did mistaken not see that the fans did try to get him to throw out the first pitch of this year's World Series, so in essence Bill was right that the fans did offer an olive branch. He declined wanting to remain out of the spotlight.

I dont know why I thought that was the Red Sox!! Yes, I watched Catching Hell. Poor feller. Ran a little league team and stuff and live for the Cubs. Terrible.
Hopefully he was celebrating last night. Must be difficult still though.
I haven't seen that in a while, but I do believe they did draw comparisons to the Bartman incident and the Red Sox Bill Buckner moment in that film.
