Minor things that make you happy

Eh there not cheap make sure you fill it properly
Tell me about it - I was pricing them up and looking for the best size/price ratio.

Of course when I mentioned my homework to MrsCT she'd already ordered one with the absolute worst size/price ratio. Probably whichever advert appeared at the top of her google search - one of those 'nationwide' companies who quote £100 above every local firm and then just order one from a local firm and pocket the difference.

Met up with a mate this morning to go for breakfast, he suggested the local Premier Inn….. WHY HAVE I NEVER CONSIDERED THIS BEFORE ????? £10.99 for an all you can eat breakfast buffet, spoilt myself, started off with 2 crumpets and strawberry jam with a coffee, after that I had 2 sausage, 2 bacon, toast, 2 hash browns, beans and a fried egg, with another coffee. Sat and chatted for a while after that before forcing myself to go get another coffee, a round of toast, fried egg, 1 sausage, 1 bacon, 1 hash brown and beans…. Then another coffee. Very rare you get value for money these days but I’ll deffo be going back soon.

I finally finished my latest gardening project; the "Tree Tops". Our section is just over an acre but it's rather hilly. I've built over 250m of paths so it can be walked round but still mostly bush. There was this area that was crying out for something so a couple of months ago I got cracking with the spade and pickaxe type tool. I must have dug out over a cubic metre of mostly clay, leveled out and topped with hard core (builders mix here, crusher run in UK). And the timber retaining. Anyway, before during and after pics. It's a blissful spot to chill and drink beer and it makes me happy to sit there and enjoy (just need to move a seat there)

toast him inside 'cos of who he's ripped off. the slime.

Greed catches up.
I know someone who fiddled expenses ,nobody knew, until he got caught.
He'd put receipts in for 2 items, unfortunately in different parts of the UK on the same day.
Sacked immediately.

Was it made to order?

…looks terrific, very well done. What’s the black plastic and piping for? Presume you get a fair bit of wildlife in that environment?

Technically the wood is a retaining wall there, only about .6m but still best to help water drain away rather than build up.
I've cut back heaps of gorse and planted hundreds of native trees and shrubs. The amount of birds there now is incredible- little ones like waxeye and fantail to the bigger Tui and even the huge Kereru (wood pigeon) are here now. Morepork, Blackbird and Thrush too. They have all helped regenerate so as much as Ive planted , nature has helped by doing as much again itself.
It's the most remarkable peaceful place to sit, reflect and have a beer. Mrs B loves it but the golden rule is that while we are there we dont discuss anything other than what we can see and hear there. It's my happy place.
