My boss finds it genuinely odd that I choose not to own a car.

I know how to and can drive a car but cannot have a license due to medical reasons. I have found throughout life that as much as it's a pain in the arse you just get on with it tbh. I like walking and can walk a fair old distance with no issues and you just get on with public transport, it is what it is. If i need to go further a field then I have people who I can grab lifts off if need be.

Horrendous road, that. It's been made all the more awful by the constantly changing speed limits and the switch to all-lane running. I feel sorry for anyone that has to spend time on there.

What’s with all the people doing 50 in the middle lanes? As usual the quickest lane was the one furthest to the left. 70 all the way.

I find it more depressing than fume inducing, but how many cars there are on the roads. I wonder how many of the flabby whoppers actually need to use a car for that journey

It really winds me up when I see single occupants driving Range Rovers etc. I see it all the time around Heswall. In reality a Fiesta would suit their needs.

If we’re going to have a serious crack at this climate change stuff then maybe people should be forced to prove they need a certain class / size of vehicle?

It’s not the solution, but it’s a start.

Oh yes. This is infuriating.

I also found it far more obvious once I experienced driving in other countries - the middle lane dawdlers' club is a very English phenomenon.

If a pub is good enough, you shouldn't want to get up and move from it. As @LEONARD said, it's slightly different in the summer, but in the winter... nah.
