Mikky speaks about Spain....

It would be great to have an Everton player playing in a very good international side, its just a shame that he seems to be "unliked"

I think the fact is that up until a few months ago, he wasnt good enough. He is better than Riera and Luis Garcia put together, even on the wing, but Xavi, Fabregas and Iniesta are better players.

The fact he plays for Everton certainly plays a part though

Riera is more of a wide midfielder and has performed well in that position for a number of years. Iif Arteta keeps on playing like he is now he'll get his chance

I hope so. Arteta must be brought into the fold soon, though. Just blood him in a friendly to show that he's noticed. If not, then something odd is afoot in my opinion, and that would probably relate to him playing for unfashionable Everton.

Well...my theory has been put to bed and the fact that the Spainish midfield is awesome at the moment is why he wont ever get called up.

From Toffeeweb -

Why Mikky wasn't called up
Watching the Spain - England match on TVE (Spanish state broadcaster) last night, the subject of Mikky's continued absence from the Spanish national side came up (this is a subject that has been getting an increasing amount of press recently, as well as a lot of chat on football forums here).

According to the commentary team, who said that it came from none other than Vicente del Bosque himself (and I have no reason not to believe them), the reason is that he did not want to consider Mikky for only one game. The reason for this being that when Fabregas returns he will go straight back into the squad in Mikky's place. Therefore why bother calling up Mikky?
Conclusion, Mikky's got no chance of being called up unless someone dies. Go figure.

So....he is worthy for a call up aparantly but there not really any point in calling him up when he'd be dropped when better players return from injury.
