Pineapple on pizza?
Which family members did you ruin the day for? Are you going to apologise? I think you should
I played with him at Sefton. He was a very good fast bowler. I took a slip catch off his bowling once, although I'm not sure what I was doing in the same team as him. The family lived near us and his brother went to my school. One day, while I was waiting for the 81, Mike Newell came up to me and asked me to take his brother's lunch in for him, because he'd forgotten it. He probably won't remember that....I like the generic; 'who were the most talented/best players at EFC during your time and what is your opinion of the manager/coaches you played for'.
Newell was a useful cricketer, I think he might have played in the Liverpool Competition, was he ever faced with a career choice of football or cricket?
Also, how easy or hard is it for a red or blue to play for the other side? When he scored against that lot, having been a boyhood kopite, how did he feel?

Yup I concur Groucho, lived in Formby when he played for us.Also, how easy or hard is it for a red or blue to play for the other side?
I've met Mike, he's a nice guy.
Has he managed to sell his house yet?I'm meeting up with Mike tomorrow. I am looking for a handful of questions to ask him. Does anybody have anything that they would like me to ask? Much appreciated.
Played with both the brothers at Liverpool and Mike was an excellent cricketer, he was a great opening batsman and even better keeper standing up for the quick bowlers and taking stumpings.I played with him at Sefton. I really did think he would go on and be a real regular scorer for us but I remember like you said his goals just dried up.After starting off so well (think it was about 6 goals in his first 10 games or so), I remember he got into the England 'B' side and was a bit of a fan favourite. But then things kind of fell away and he never regained those heights. What happened? Or was it just one of those things?
Plus, does he still hold the same views about the game that he expressed as manager of Luton?
