I fail to see how Keane is even slightly to blame for getting slapped. Watch Gana jump straight in his face, if Keane just stood there you’d be castigating him for being ‘soft’. If a man squared up to you like Gana does to Keane there’s very few people who wouldn’t get them out of their personal space.

Chuckling at this. The irony is mate, is it's you doing the wider condemning by blaming Keane.

Gueye was the one in the wrong, which is why he got sent off, and why he apologised.

Pointing the finger elsewhere isn't nuanced, it's just silly.

I think Gana’s instagram post that he apologised to Keane and the team and not the other way around is enough of an indication to silence the debate.

You’d have to have some amount of bias to continue trying to argue Keane is to blame when the player himself is accepting responsibility and fault. Fair play to him for being a big enough person to hold his hand up publicly.

I like the players are showing some spirit and have high demands for each other. I’ve had many a heated exchange on the pitch with teammates. Obviously this went too far but it’s not a bad thing.

I can understand someone losing their rag in the moment, but the worst of it was Gana continuing after the red. If Pickford wasn't there, that likely becomes 2 red cards.

Done well I thought, many people would have absolutely flipped after getting a slap in front of millions.
Fair play for his self control.
To play as well as he did after all that I think is brilliant.
Could have been a Royal Marine sniper with that temperament

There's only two explanations for blaming Keane.

I hate Keane and I'm gutted he's doing well. It's made me look like a mug and I can't wait for him to make mistake(s) that cost us goals/games.

I've never played a game of football in my life and playing that pass in the box and blaming the player who doesn't want it, looks just fine to me.

If someone is in the wrong and runs 10/15 yards to scream and shout abuse in your face, I’m pretty certain every other player on our team also gives him a little push to get out of his space.

It’s entirely on Gana, if you disagree I’m sorry but you’ve never had a confrontation in your life. If Keane wanted to he could have absolutely bodied him but he gives him the smallest shove to get out of his face.
