and there will be a good chunk of them who dont actually like playing football anymore

Yep. There'll be plenty who just aren't particularly fussed, it is just a job to them that they happen to be very skilled at, in relative terms.

You can't really blame them for maximising their money. I certainly have no sympathy for their choices but that's the reality.

Don't care if it's as a starter or as a 16th choice.

If you choose to keep professional bottlers and mentally questionable players on the list, you reap what you sow.

Should be well out the door by now. Thanks for the service and all that, but next.

Was his wage that was the problem for me,along with Holgate never worth what he rinsed us for under Carlo.Give him a 1/2 year deal on half that and would be ok with me.The caveate being he will get games with injuries/suspensions so let's hope the Michael Keane of the last few games is here to stay...

THIS!!!!!!!!!

You can’t make a contract retain decision on a player who has a couple of decent games but in the main has been a major liability for years . Makes no sense.

And yes we need a squad, what’s the point in filling it with the same issues, they will just repeat themselves

We're not making the same mistakes though. Jake has stepped up to the plate now so will be default cover for the starters and Keane moves down the bench.

I actually think Keane can do a job paired with O'Brien or Branthwaite as they are pacy defenders. It's him and Tarks where I think we do look dodgy and even then Tarky wasn't fit at the beginning of the season, so perhaps the outcome wouldn't have been so bad if he had been 100%.

Keane on a 1/2 year deal for 60k as a 2nd choice backup, is totally different to being on a 4/5 year 100k a week deal as a starter or 1st choice replacement. The question is will a promoted club give him a lot more seeing they can get him on a free. I reckon someone will take the punt so it will come down to whether he wants to stay.
