Another way to look at it is this: we played a back five today and Keane didn't start. Then Godfrey got hurt, but Keane wasn't used. Then Mina got hurt , but Keane still didn't come on.

It would seem Lampard doesn't rate Keane in a back three / back five. So doesn't it seem unlikely we'll keep Keane if the manager wants to use that system?

You may be right but I'm not sure you can read that into it.

You can say that FL preferred Holgate to Keane as Godfrey's replacement.

However when Mina went off He decided that Vinagre was a better attacking option that Myko and played him at wing back .

I agree that the fact that Keane didn't get on in those circumstances doesn't bode well for his future with us.

I wouldnt say he doesnt rate him, he played him quite a lot last season.

We didn't have Tarkowski then or a fully-fit Mina.

I reckon Keane goes in January to Leeds or Forest. He will realise quickly where he stands in the pecking order & will know Lampard needs to move players on. Hopefully we are clear of a relegation scrap & the two mentioned teams are in one & desperate to get someone in.

Agree; but if we sign Coady I don't think Keane even makes the matchday squad and that might prompt him to actively seek alternative employment.
