How come everyone on here bigs him up when he’s risen to the heady heights of average this season. I have always said, he’s a mistake waiting to happen. He’s a powder puff centre half. Not good enough.

...not everyone, but lots say he’s our best CB and are entitled to that view. The main concern for me is that we’ve paid £30m for a CB who can’t get a game ahead of him.

Lots on here really rate him, though.

He is a decent Centre back if you are going to defend deep and force teams to cross balls into the box. That is why he looked a good player at Burnley, he had plenty of protection in front of him and just had to concentrate on dominating his box.

He has been found out when he has played for us because in the majority of games we need to make the play which means pushing up and looking to play in their half. Silva's high line has just made his weaknesses far more obvious.

Precisely. Defend in numbers, deep in your own half, affording the opposition little space to attack...in other words the set up at Burnley, and Keane won’t get exposed.

Said it before, he’s Steve Bruce in terms of lack of movement but without Steve Bruce’s football brain to position himself so he doesn’t get burned/turned. Keane is the most flat footed defender I’ve seen in the Premier League for a long time.
