I think its just all over the park. We mess up in the final third so often, not just missing sitters but playing the wrong final ball, poor crosses, not hitting players in stride etc.

I wonder if his heading accuracy would improve if the treasury reshaped the 50p into a round coin.

They really shouldn't have to be told. We had this issue with Martinez, there is a difference between trying to implement a style of play and using common sense. I don't think any manager wants their defenders to take a stupid risk when keeping possession. If we can pass it and keep the ball great, if you are under pressure then get rid.

I don't think there is much between any of them.
Zouma and Mina have the better potential though.
Like, the Leicester game is the only 'howler' he has made.
Both Zouma and Mina look better next to him, imo, than when they've played together. But I do know that's only a two-game sample (but if you can't impress at home against Newcastle and Lincoln...)

But it's what it does to the confidence of the players around him. Zouma always looks to be getting ready to cover for him,rather than just getting on with his own game.
A howler is still a howler if you get away with it. He makes LOADS of mistakes, but if they don't result in goals people don't seem to count them. Honestly, the amount of times balls go in behind him and he doesn't even seem to notice the player running onto it is staggering. Anytime anyone runs at him he looks like his feet are in concrete, and they just glide by him like he's not there.
Mina has played a couple of games, in a new country, in a couple of different systems, with different partners. Keane has been at best average for 18 months. I have no idea why we would prefer to stick with someone who we know isn't very good rather than giving the benefit of the doubt to someone who could be much better. Obviously i'm talking about us as fans here, if Silva thinks Keane is the better bet having watched them all train etc than I defer to him, but I struggle to see how anyone could actually want to see Keane as a mainstay of the team after the last season and a half.
Maybe that's just semantics but what howlers has he made specifically?
I'm not disputing your point, but it's just mostly he's recovered etc.
I don't rate Mina and Zouma as a pairing as I don't see either one of them as a leader. And while I wouldn't say Keane is a natural fit for that role either, I do think he has come on this season mainly because he has been the organiser in the back line - at least when playing well.
It's about how partnerships work together and ultimately I don't see Zouma and Mina working. I think they're both too similar in a lot of their weaknesses, and that leaves us exposed.
Well Zouma didn't do much covering for Mina the other day and didn't win one header that I can recall mate. Was constantly out of position.
Zouma did do one bit of covering late on and made a good tackle. Think I put him from a 3 to a 4 for that reason in my own personal ratings (not that they count for much!). He was garbage. And I really like the lad and hope he signs, btw.

Wasn't referring to players actual position on the pitch,more what's going on in their head.Believe me when you play in a team with someone who is always on the verge of a howler it seriously changes the way you and your team mates approach the game.
Yeah I can certainly see where you're coming from.
It's difficult to pick out specific 'howlers' because as I say, if nothing comes of them they don't really stick in your mind. I can recall sitting at games saying what the hell is he doing there, but I can't really say I can fully recall him messing up a particular situation and someone having to cover for him 3 months ago, if you know what I mean.
I thought he was truly dreadful against Spurs, as in embarrassingly bad, but he somehow managed to get away without being directly responsible for any goals. I thought he was run ragged by Watford, where he couldn't compete either physically or for pace, and he has let people in behind him for goals/big chances in the box against Wolves, City and Burnley off the top off my head. In short I just don't think he's very good. He's not really bad, he is a PL player on merit, but he has an extremely limited skillset, and when he's bad he is horrid.
So your assuming in his head he is planning to always be covering but not actually doing it on the pitch. Thats a weird shaped stick to beat Keane with.
