all's I see is a racist, misogynistic, homophobic, corrupt institution. An institution proud about those elements. Murderers.
Didn't the IOPC, completely separate from the police and not constituting of police officers, decide the use of force was neither unlawful nor misconduct?

What I see is scum being armed then scum using those arms. I have little faith in the iopc as they're selected from the same pool of scum in the first place.
There are a lot of examples unfortunately of families being devastated through the excessive use of force that has cost people their lives. The sooner the british policing gestapo are brought to book the better. Murderous filth, a pox on them all.

No they're not. Professional Standards Departments are cops, but the IOPC has a mixture. As of '21, less than a third of investigators were ex-cops or staff.

Less than half of senior investigators and team leaders were (36%) and none of those involved in the appeal or review process were.

It mostly has lawyers and civil servants at its heart.

Then that is a much more modern twist than I was last aware. Still, the stench of it's previous incarnation pervades it's modern iteration. Feck every last one of them as well. !

100+ armed response police* have handed in their 'ticket' today and rescinded their responsibility to carry a fire arm. Quite amazing timing huh. official story link when it lands.

They have to make a split-second decision in high pressure, difficult circumstances. The CPS have a long time, in this case a year, to critique that decision... I'm not surprised armed officers are giving up on that responsibility. If they get it wrong, they are left hung out to dry... their life is ruined. Risk v reward? Not worth it.

I think it's obvious to all you are not objective on this subject matter...

Pigs from across the country refusing to bolster the Met ranks out of solidarity with those that've given up their firearms licences and the chap that shot Chris Kaba in the head when he wasn't armed.

Bless their cotton socks.

The problem is what does the state do when one of them does get it wrong - the relatives, friends and family of the deceased have, as every sane person should accept, a right to an independent and thorough investigation of the death of their loved one and where liability exists that the person(s) responsible are held accountable.

As bad as this is for the officer concerned, and for their colleagues (with the implications that you point to), I think the IOPC and CPS have no other option here (with the law as it stands now) than to charge the officer with murder or manslaughter if they think Kaba was killed wrongly.

Was that not the case when they signed up?
