I mean, if you were really really concerned about being hit by a car starting from an almost stationary position, would you stand in front of it to offer only an 'accidental' forehead shot to accidentally aim for?
The car had rammed two police vehicles, and the jury agreed he was attempting to escape. As you state yourself, Kaba was revving the engine.

If you're alluding to an argument that the officer should get out of the way in such an instance, surely every person trying to escape will do the same thing?

Can I ask this question: was Kaba right to try and flee?

and ?

The poster stated he couldn’t understand why he’d simply not stop when confronted. I offered empathy that everyone reacts differently to every situation depending on their circumstances and then pointed out that he might also want to have avoid being arrested . I mean it is possible he didn’t comply as he didn’t want to be arrested isn’t it ?

Im not saying three cheers for Chris kaba getting shot , I am saying a likely explanation for him attempting to drive off from the hard stop is he knew he would be arrested and charged with conspiracy to murder and therefore possibly jailed a set of circumstances he wished to avoid . I’ll be honest I didn’t think that was controversial
A suspect is a suspect only. Are we to empower the police to execute any such suspect they wish from now on? No judge, no jury, just a good old fashioned hard stop on the street and that's the end of whoever?

of course not, it is a crime to resist arrest.

he was surrounded by people waving guns though. was he frightened for his life? turns out he very much should have been.

sorry I honestly don’t understand your point , I’m not arguing I’m saying that it’s a possibly scenario that Chris Kaba wanted to escape arrest . I honestly don’t understand how anyone thinks that isn’t a possibility.

Me saying that isn’t me saying kill anyone who runs away

He may have been frightened for his life, however is it so irrational to surmise the officer may have been in the circumstances I stated?

Kaba was trying to flee and had driven his vehicle into two police cars. If you are caught between a vehicle or go under it, even at that speed, it's risk of life.
If they’d put a stinger out it would have took the tires out I’m sure but they hadn’t , is that something we could criticise them for I don’t know others in this thread would . I’d suspect if it’s a hard stop probably not as it’s suppose to shock them isn’t it ? What I meant is I don’t think a round through a tire causes it to blow up and the the car to stop immediately so if the bizzies argument is that he wanted to save lives by stopping the car immediately I don’t know how that would be an option .
Stingers deflate tyres at a measured rate - they are not meant to be instantaneous or rapid because if done at speed, like in many chases, it could cause a crash.

Vehicles can drive with deflated tyres (onto the rims) for actual miles if the person is determined, although it depends on lots of conditions - number of tyres for one.

Like I’ve said before you know a lot more than me I suspect but that was the point i sort of tried to make earlier

He was frightened of getting caught you moron.

Do you think if he had not tried to kill police with his car, he'd still be alive? We're not in Los Angeles, he would have been detained - but no, the gangster - career criminal who has been in and out of prison since 13 tried to run police officers over in an attempt to flee.

Jesus christ, you really don't live in the real world do you.

I don't think it's a bad thing to hold police officers to a high standard of behaviour (most particularly when they're armed) and also to uphold the innocent till proven guilty notion.

The CPS obviously took the view that Blake had a serious case to answer.

I don't want the country slipping into the Philippines mode of shoot first and forget asking any questions.

I'd rather not have gangs on our streets.

Kaba had shot someone in a nightclub 6 days prior, the day before he was shot he was involved in an attempted murder, had a court order for assaulting his pregnant girlfriend, amongst countless other convictions.

His lovely mother obviously knew all of this, and tried and availed to keep his records out of the press, yet made sure the Police Officer who DID HIS JOB was named, making him and his family targets.

Good riddance, shoot the rest of this '67 Gang' while they're at it.

I only heard about this yesterday. Shooting a gun in a packed nightclub shows the nature of the fiend.
