Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all on this very nice sunny day here in Finland.I hope all are well and have a great day today and I hope Mr G never gets to know ,I nearly had a tantrum here ! Some costs just are startling ,I remember beechnut chewy at 1d and a mars bar at 3d .Garages now have an hourly rate of 75€ !
Anyway off to count the pennies .
To make matters worse neither of them liked the flavours they had chosen and only drank half of it! Gone are the days of cheap treats, I remember buying a 1d bar of Cadbury chocolate, they also did one for 3d if you were a bit flush with pocket money, the 6d size if you had birthday money and shilling bars were only a dream!

Mrs J says it is perfectly normal to get purple chillis , "not all are Green and Red like you get in Tesco" .....according to Mrs J!
The big question is, are they hotter or milder? Anj doesn't want to find out the hard way.

As you know mate. We men have a cast iron method of testing a chilli's heat. Deseed and finely chop a couple of chillies. Then immediately go for a wee. Never fails?

Bet you used to thank God on a daily basis for the brown knickers H.?

Morning all. Had planned a visit into Falmouth today to get my hair cut amongst other things. But due to discussions with a, shall we say bitter and extremely angry fan, that went on well into the early hours on the transfer thread last night, I overslept this morning. Decided I couldn't be bothered washing my hair so I've put off my visit until next Tuesday.

Maupay wasn't high on my list of strikers when his name was mentioned a couple of weeks ago, but on consideration he would be a good solid squad player so long as we bring other players to compliment him. Think he could work well in a front 2 with Dom if we tweet the formation a but to a 352.

Not sure what the day holds up until I break open the gin at 5pm. Dig out the ironing board maybe? God help me?

Don't put yourself through it. It isn't worth it. Agree about Maupay and I'm warming to the idea of Che Adams whose name was being bandied about on Sky last night. The best news however is that Dom is ahead of schedule and starts training next eek. ?

I know I shouldn't Anj. But I'm really not looking forward to the ironing. :)

And you really are most predictable. You can't even mention Dom's name without throwing in an "eek"lol

Hey guys, hope you're all good.

Weather is still all over the place, currently sunny. It was raining so hard yesterday morning that Daisy refused to go out to the toilet lol She's never done that before.

I think the management are trying to build a functioning hard working side this season, which is sensible in my opinion, only concern is where the goals are coming from. Maupay is another, Brighton fans complain they don't finish the chances they create but he works his socks off, so I find it strange as we do need someone who can score.

Other than that though, we are not going for anyone flashy just hard working good team players who don't get injured. An actual plan you say...

Agreed mate. There does seem to be a plan this summer which is nice to see, even though one might agree or disagree with what the plan actually is, as well as the quality of signings. I daren't post this in the transfer thread* but I'd say this has been our most encouraging window since Moshiri took over, provided we get some forwards through the door before it ends. Another central midfielder would be nice too.

Re Maupay, not the most exciting but he gets you 8-10 goals a year which I guess for his price is not bad, and then hopefully another attacker will come in too.

*In fact I will post this in the transfer thread later tonight just to see the reactions

I think Maupay will fit what he wants this season and I'm ok with that, Lampard is starting fresh and he obviously wants lads who are fit most of the time and work hard on the pitch, which should get the fans onside.

I think the window has been decent myself, structured with players who are reliable.

Think the reaction won't be too bad mate. Most will broadly agree with thus. The mood has brightened somewhat since the Maupay news broke. I think the fact we had gone so long with no action, coupled with some false alarms, had been getting many people down.

There are a number of ultra negatives around. I came across one last night and there's a few on today. But not that many I don't think.

Hi guys. What a day. Loads of IT issues in work. Couldn't generate any letters, couldn't load up documents. A completely wasted and very frustrating day. Just got back from the gym which has actually taken away all my annoyances. Ready for tea now - pasta and meatballs.

A question for the gardeners amongst you. I planted some chilies earlier in the year. I actually have chilies on them. However said chilies are a very fetching shade of purple - like aubergines. Is this normal?
Maybe @Joey66 could help Anj?

He also has a career record of scoring one in three, which whilst far from prolific I feel is reasonable for what we can afford at the moment and he can bring others into play and makes a nuisance of himself.
