Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Caught the end if something on the local news last night Joey. Sure they said not to be too worried about them. The sting is not poisonous to Humans and their pincers are only small so wouldn't even break skin in most cases.

Also they are spider crabs, native to Cornwall. In fact they market them as Cornish King Crab down here and have become very popular. My neighbours tell me the meat is much sweeter but hard to get at as the legs are so spindly.

Enterprising locals have been going down to the beaches with buckets of water. The local fishermen are not happy.?
My late Grandfather loved Crab - holidayed in Whitby once - last day on the docks a big boat came in I noticed boiling hot fires underneath big bins the crabs were dropped straight into them {illegal now} instantly killed cooked - placed on a wooden table cued up to purchase two for £5 expensive in the mid 1970s for my Grandad as we were heading home that night - he devoured them not a piece of meat left on them -"Where did you get them from"?
"Get us two more next week will you-best Crab I have ever tasted"

I explained I was not going back to Whitby lol its a lovely place though ......

Just had an early tea of Spanish meat and cheese platter with some olives, piquant peppers and my new favourite tomato chilli jam.

Off to see the Red Arrows now who are doing a display over Falmoufh Bay as part of Falmouth week. I'm walking down to Rosemullian head about 2 miles away, which has a good view of Falmouth Bay. All the action will be about 2 miles up the coast but hopefully I'll get a decent view. Falmouth will be jammed later and getting vack will be a problem. Starts at 6pm so need to get cracking.

Portishead Carnival organisers manged to get the Red Arrows to do a gig for us a few years ago. The town and all the surrounding hills were rammed for miles around.

It may be unrelated, but shortly afterwards, Carol Vorderman (lived locally) hooked up with their then squadron leader.

Was this before or after she got snotted on the local scrumpy ?
