Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

You see ignorance really is bliss .Thanks for that Fred .
Did you ever see the Steven Fry programme where he interviewed an African President ( No idea who ) where they outlawed homosexuality ,it was the main thing that turned me off him ,he was so disrespectful .It was this man's religious belief and that must be understood ,no matter what we think ourselves .So from then on I look at him in a different light -intellect is not everything .

You have a lovely garden mate. I dont have the interest you obviously do have, so we have always tended to err on the meadow look, which technically, it still is. Planning on a large (non fish) pond for next year, cos when we had the last one, (long story about its demise), we loved seeing the natural evolution of insects and newts and frogs, and even wild ducks around it.

ATM, every morning, I am greeted by a massive display of flowering meadow grasses that I planted for Nikki a year or two ago. They would look like that in a real meadow, so zero work involved, which is a plus!

I 've tried without success to incorporate a wildflower meadow - mine just looked a mess.

We do however have a large pond and next to it / feeding into it is a smaller wildlife pond in which the frogs breed .

it is fronted by prairie grasses and at the back i dug out a large crescent section to create a bog garden with gunnera and reum.

Today's garden project done! A new pea gravel path up to and around a dry stone cairn. I did the path , I did not do the cairn! Real skill involved in that so a friend did it for me. Photos show the path from both ends. Just the driveway to look forward to tomorrow. Mrs J must borrowed Sassy's whip lol

Looks lovely and so green!

We had help, what with the ground having been an actual meadow for centuries, with all the natural fertiliser being ingrained into the soil is my thought. Cos we have trouble planting any other plant that isnt a (very) hardy type.

The fields at the end of our plot were harvested the other week for winter fodder for example. Our cottage was built on part of that.

I bet if I lobbed a few packs of meadow flowers over the fence, some would take.

Ok thats the new section of path in the rear garden finished . A bit pooped but not too bad.

So Dwight has signed . Good. Looks like me Fred and Blue are in a minority of thinking he's a decent player but I think he will do ok.

I'd play 4411 , with Ali supporting DCL based on our current personell.

McNeil gives the full back , particularly Patterson if McNeil plays RW really good defensive cover.

Need a couple of CM's particularly one who shields the defence. Gana , possibly not due to his age and stance on homosexuality , Barkley definately not .
I can’t say I know much about McNeil but from what I have he reminds me of Gordon. Definite talent but the end product is mostly lacking.

I trust Lampard though and he surely has a plan in mind.

I created a “ wildflower meadow” about 10 years ago on sloping ground behind the house. It was hard work initially , the obvious thing I didn’t realise in the first year was that natural seeds need to reach the soil , if they just lie on grass then self seeding doesn’t occur. With that knowledge I established quite a few varieties, the main one being a tall blue flower beloved of bees called “ Viper’s Bugloss” they’ve been stunning in some years , all clumped together. The white Gowans/ Ox eye daisy is dominant now though. This is from a few years back:

Fry openly attacks religion at every opportunity and like you this put me off him.

Re Gana, loved him while he was here and think he would be great player for a year for us until more dead wood is shifted. This year is all about mid table stability and no one should be expecting exciting signings given the constraints the club are operating under.

Absolutely right AT .

Essential that people's expectations of Frank and the team are realistic.
