For all its faults (and it does have many) the NHS is undoubtedly something to be proud of, particularly when compared to many parts of the globe.
It's so easy to take it for granted.

Earlier in the week heavy rain was forecast for here overnight and today. But it looks as though we're going to miss the worst, if not all of it. Looks like it's passing through North of us. Looking at the forecast for the next 2 weeks there's no rain either. :(

I'm assuming they are not single sex saunas Billy. Whatever your persuasion may be, what happens if there's somebody in there who really turns you on? I mean, it's not something you can easily hide is it? I actually can't think of anything more embarrassing. I'm with you in that mate.

It's okay for you women. You just go a bit pink in the cheeks which nobody will notice because you're in a sauna FFS. :p

Haha yes most of them are not single sex although you do get some women-only ones I think. The sauna I went to was so small that you'd get immediately clocked if you were checking the women out, so I guess that puts people off. I was just looking at the floor the whole time to be honest lol

I think you are wrong the waiting lists are horrendous and many can't get to see a doctor ! My daughter has to be "seen " over the phone and in a very short time allowance ,that is riduculous .

When I used to ski in Austria there were always saunas and evryone was mixed and naked .I might have gone but the wife said NO.

I agree it's far from perfect Blue. But I do think we still take it for granted though. My neighbour was recently in Guernsey . She had a cut that had turned nasty and needed some antibiotics. As a non resident she had to pay £190 to arrange a consultation, £50 for the consultation and £10 for the prescription. Residents also have to pay but the cost us roughly half.

Brilliant, always thought Dick Emery was a genius, I used to sit and watch this with my Grandad when I was about 10, it was the same punchlines every week but it didn't stop you falling about laughing.
My favourite characters were the skinhead father and son team played by him and Roy Kinnear and who could forget ' Honky tonk'??
