Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning. Flippin' Burnley eh? Or should that be how rubbish are Southampton? But let's not be downhearted - our destiny is still in our own hands. We've got this. We got a Chinese takeaway last night. My fortune cookie said "You will be showered with good fortune and rewards" Hopefully that's a lottery win and a derby win! ? ? Although if I had to pick I would take the Derby ahead of the lottery right now!
Have a lovely day x

Hello friends, it took me a while to catch up to today’s Karl’s coffee house chat but I have prevailed :) Now it is time for me to check out the Ukrainian thread and then I have to call it early tonight as I have to be at the college first thing in the morning and I want to do my full workout tomorrow so need to be up by 5. The weekend is almost here and with it lots spring weather so I’m very much looking forward to it.

Some food for thought. We all know Sunday is going to be a tough match that we may have very little chance of winning, but do we give it our best by playing our main squad, or do we protect players like Mina that can injure easily and risk not having some of them for some future matches?

Have lovely Friday! Xxx
I'd concede the game now and take a 3 nil loss , no injuries and no red cards lol .........and I'm only half joking.

Why do cookies always say nice things rather than "you will become ill eating from this mice infested takeaway"

Morning all ,

Well the sun hasn't got it's hat on here today. Even worse , no rain for the garden ! So, grey and overcast and likely to remain that way all day.

Unfortunately Burnley seem to have remembered how to play football and even worse rediscovered their passion and hunger. Watched chunks of their game and they were so more up for it than we were the previous night. Very , very fearful about the prospect of relegation.

Feeling a bit better this am but still not 100% Mrs J now under the weather too but she also moved so of the bark. Did covid tests - negative .

Bit of housework whilst Mrs J rests in bed - I swear she's swinging the lead!

See how I feel this afternoon , might cut the grass if I feel up to it.

Still no word from @Terrarian , which is worrying. Please post mate to let us know you are ok.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Such a beautiful and peaceful sight

That’s impressive, not only can you sew but also crochet, wow. Not too many young men have those skills now days. My daughter knows how to sew and she can do some crochet but still is learning the skill.

Between my workout and the game, I felt super exhausted last night.

I’m not surprised about plastic showing up Cornish beaches, as now days it is even showing up in our blood :(

My mom taught me how to knit but my grandma was the one who crochet and during the summer when we visited for a month, she would made me crochet for hours instead of letting me out playing with friends so I’m not to fond of it. I like knitting though.

You had mentioned there was a bench they placed in Cal’s honor, where is that?

Trying to be as helpful as I can for my favorite Cornwall resident ?

Wow, that’s a gorgeous painting. You are not only talented painting bluebells but also painting sassy flamenco dancers. The colors are so vivid and flow so beautifully together. What medium are you utilizing? Now I know who I’m going to ask for a portrait commission if I win the lottery ?

I have to agree with that assessment lol She is super sweet too, every now and then she snaps at Reese but it is because he has become such a grumpy cat.

Tbh it wasn’t one of my pastimes either until we went to Italy sat on the rocky beach and began finding all these beautiful glasses and stones, now whenever I visit a rocky beach I look around.

Maybe one day you visit Lizard peninsula you can take a pic of the serpentine and post it here for us to see.

I was thinking the same. That you seem to have twins of my cats as your neighbors lol

Our dream is to drive around Europe for a few weeks so hopefully we will be able to also be able to check out Scotland. So many places to visit and not enough money or time. If I were filthy rich that’s exactly what I would be doing with my time, traveling the world.

I was never before but I think I now have become a sea glass collector. Thanks for sending that link, I’ll check it out.

In Colombia not too many people use dishwasher so while we have one at home, I always do ours by hand. But washing dishes can be a pain in the butt, specially when one is doing lots of cooking.

I hope by the time you read this post that you are feeling better and your chest has improved. But you are a hard working man even during retirement so relaxing in Orangery and sun reading sounds like a perfect afternoon and plan to recovery.

Haha I have to admit when first reading I was also confused ?

Yesterday afternoon was a roller coaster of emotions. Richy saved the night for sure and I also think that Iwobi did well last night and has been improving throughout the season. Rondon can’t last the full 90 but I think if he can make a difference as he did yesterday. He seems more engaged and passionate playing under Frank that he did under Benitez.

Congrats, mate. That’s exciting news, well except for the family loss. Sorry for it, I hope it wasn’t your mum.

Dolphins are such amazing creatures, so smart and entertaining too. We got to go on a dolphin tour while in Costa Rica and the pod put an unexpected show for everyone on the boat.

Ha, confess AT. Did you have some bread on the table that you omitted from the pic? ;)
The bench idea was at another smaller property on the outskirts of my village. It was Cal's first job with the NT before she was given the role of team leader and where she worked with Nicky, who I still keep in regular touch with. I'm not sure what's happened to that idea.

There's a souvenir shop down at Lizard point where they have a collection or ornaments and utensils made from serpentine stone so I'll take a pic next time I'm down there. The stone itself is the bedrock for a large part of the peninsular so not easily visible to the eye. But when cleaned and polished it comes up a treat.

Beautiful sunny morning down here after it being cloudy for most of yesterday. The neighbours are coming around for coffee shortly. Haven't seen them for over 5 weeks as they've been in South Africa visiting his brother and they self isolated for a week before going, so it will be good to catch up. Then this afternoon if the weather is still ok (rain possible according to the forecast) I'm going to walk up and see Cal's friend from the NT. Keep on threatening to have her and her fella around for a curry. She's a veggie so I'll need to find a recipe for a veggie curry.

I weighed myself this morning for the first time in about 5 weeks and I've lost another half a stone. So that's nearly two and a half stone since Cal passing. I knew I'd lost more weight because I tried on some older clothes a week ago and they fitted me fr the first time in yonks.

Have a good day everybody and I'll catch up later.

I know you will give me jip but I used to add apple and pineapple to a curry along with root veg it will make a tasty curry if a little on the sweet side ,yes I have been watching some vicar of Dibley but she wasn't in the ones we saw . Well done on the weight loss it takes a lot of effort to lose that much .

I used sweet potato rather than ordinary potato in a lamb curry I made recent;y and it was delicious. So I was thinking of using that and maybe some cauliflower and green beans. I'll find a tomato and onion based curry and just add different veg to it. I have enough Indian cook books to select from. Have to be honest and say I'm not a lover of pineapple in curry but I know they put it in dhansak.

TBH, the losing weight hasn't been that much of an effort Blue. I'm probably just having slightly smaller portions and have cut out snacking. I'm walking more too so the exercise helps. Not eating out or having takeaways probably doesn't harm either. Bottom line is that I don't feel as if I'm missing out.

TBH I think you'd get better odds on a lottery win. lol

I bought some Ras el hanout yesterday to do a lamb tagine as I just haven't quite got the taste for middle eastern /north african food yet and want to give it another try .What was it Einstein said " If you do the same again and again but expect a different result ! " I am the same with sushi ,I just don't see the point of all the fuss -it is just raw fish with three different flavours . So have you tried any Tagine type stuff ?

Tagine with Cous Cous is a staple in the Jazzy household.
