This isn't an ancient family recipe, just something Cal showed me soon after we were married and I've enhanced (in my opinion anyway) over the years. Something that Cal showed you and you enhanced then sounds like the perfect chili recipe. So whenever you have a moment (don’t feel rushed I know you are still dealing with a lot so I don’t want to add more tasks) I would love for you to share it with us.
