Hi Messy, hope you managed to keep in touch with the match. We played really well. Could have won and possibly would have if Richy or DCL were playing. Any sign of you going home yet?

I was watching the matchday thread until 10 minutes to go but then I got a visitor but managed to see the score. Still in hospital until Monday. They will check my bloods again and make another decision.

Isn't it great that the match thread didn't become the despairing place we were fearing

Once you get home hopefully you get to watch the replay because it is worth watching how we put a stop to Ronaldo, Sancho and company. So proud of our Blues!

If we get Coleman, DCL and Richarlison back we can maybe kick on however this season is dependant on having no more than 1 first teamer out at a time. Coleman is passed his best but he is comfortably the best RB at the club. DCL and Richarlison offer so much of a goal threat. We were good enough to go toe to without maybe we would be top with.

I agree. Having all of them back will make a great difference. As you know I'm not a Benitez fan but he really is doing good giving our financial and squad situation. Whatever he tells them during second half is definitely working because the are a total different team that they were last year.

I'm not a fan and never will be of Benitez but if he can't sack him because he's winning then that is to our benefit. I'm giving the credit to the players rather than him. However we are certainly making a better show in 2nd halves than we did last year. However this time last year we were also thinking Carlo could do little wrong. The financial situation was poor but ultimately he did inherit a decent 1st team except for RB.

I have said before that I will wait until the end of the season before I make a judgment specially because one thing that I learned last year is that seasons at the PL are long and very intense so things could change quickly specially if we get new injuries. But the team is definitely behaving different than they did last year during second half. Ancelotti just seem to lack ideas or motivation, the team at times look defeated even before the match was over. Our attitude has improved and so has our composure.

We are sat in a good position. Maybe it will help us as last year we were under so much pressure because of how good Ancelotti is/was. Nothing much is expected of Benitez so that should make it easier as we are not expected to win as much.

Hopefully. I also think not having fans on the stadium made a great difference. Maybe now days the lads are feeling the passion of the fans and that's given the impetus to fight harder until the end.

I definitely had no expectation on today's match so I was very pleased with a tie but I would have been delighted if Mina's goal had been onside. Too bad but I'm happy he had a nice match. And his dance made me smile

I've had a few visitors now but it can be quite difficult as you can see some people are seeing just how close I'm to the end and they are tinged with sadness. Then there are others who I fear are fooling themselves and trying not to face the truth. Unfortunately these people will be in for a shock when the time does arrive. Me I'm realistic enough to know what's coming and I'm just going to make the best of a bad situation.

I guess you just going have to let go of some tasks around the house, maybe some family and friends can help around if you need it. I wish I could be closer to lend a hand. But is there anything I/we could do from far away?

I have been well, just working on my garden. Had to cut some of my CBD plants that were ready for harvesting.
