Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all on this still dark day here ,I hope all are well and had a restful night. Most of my news is above but the thought of Arja getting back home has me up even earlier .For the ladies ,she has been giving me to-do lists and now I am the proud owner of a helluva shopping list to be procured on her say so after the doc's visit,so despite ill health she has still been on the ball.
Have great day all COYB
Good news. Hopefully home very soon x

It was fantastic mate thank you 😊

Perfect setting, just a few guests.

We all then went into Ayia napa town and smashed karaoke for the night. A beautiful day all round.

We’ve got to go and get our certificates stamped shortly and that’s everything completed.

A couple more days of sunshine before we fly back Saturday.

This was my view from the table at the reception dinner 😊
It all sounds like you had a perfect day , with things just as you wanted them , creating memories to last a lifetime .

Morning guys. God a lot's been happening since I was last on here. Been full on this week and the same today when I get to realise 2 lifetime ambitions. Hope the garden is worth it Jazz.😎.

In addition to meeting up with my brother in law again last night I also went to see One war after another (a fantastic film) at the Odeon and conducted a record store crawl of Liverpool and picked up some of my favourite records that used to be part of my vinyl collection and never got around to replacing on CD. Had a fantastic Chinese in Hamilton Square which is probably the best Chinese meal I've had in 10 years.

Long train journey home tomorrow that I'm not looking forward to but I'll be glad to get home I think.

Have a great day guys.

Morning everyone ,

Not been posting much as mum situation is a bit fraught. Current carers are hopeless - well actually the multitude of young ladies that turn up aren't but they have 19 clients in a day so they are never on time , never spend the requisite time with mum and all of it is rushed. It's not their fault it's their gobshite employer who according to my rudimentary calculations is making about £300k from each carer that they employ. Virtually all ( except 2 ) of the 15 different carers we have seen are foreign nationals. Absolutely nothing wrong in that , they are very caring when here but very difficult for a 98 year old deaf lady to understand them.

So, we are changing providers but getting the LA to give us the budget to administer is so beaurocratic and difficult. Anyway I finally managed to get an agreement and have found a 60 year old lady in the next village able to help. Getting all the paperwork is a nightmare.

Garden visit from Fred today and if he makes it - you know what happened last time - a bit of wine will be consumed. However Fred has to get back to town for a concert with some girl band or other so I expect him to be on edge and nervous !

Have a lovely day everyone.
I hope this will be a positive result for you and Mum. The whole care system is fkd. All about money and profit with the employees and clients getting a poor deal all around.

Good news ,Arja is back home ,they are still unsure of the trigger but Hep A is the most probable cause and booze the most probable trigger ,more bloods next Thursday checking the situation hasn't worsened .Hopefully the last Hospital visit for a while .Thanks again for the well wishing guys and gals .:)
Delighted to hear that blue! You will sleep well tonight my friend.

It certainly did. Just enjoying a glass of malbec in Moghli waiting for my tamarind fries and Gunpowder chicken to turn up.

Weird we were talking about Soft Cell earlier around the same time it was announced one of them had sadly passed away.
Dominos have just launched that as a pizza topping. I have tried and it’s really good, no chance of it arriving burnt either @jazzy :p
