@Barnfred 55 having now listed to Critical Thinking on rotation this week I am absolutely loving it. What was it about it that didn’t get your attention?

I'm listening to it again now AT, but this time I'm giving it a proper listen with headphones rather than just on in the background. OK, it is a lot better than I initially thought. Still not a patch on their earlier stuff which was brilliant, but solid. James Dean Bradfield has such a listenable voice.

Did you ever give Magdalena Bay, Imaginal Disc a listen mate. I can't get enough of it. It might just be one of my favourite albums ever. It's more pop than rock, which is unusual for me, but it takes you places you just don't expect.

How early is early though? Angry young nihilists at the start but even they will grow older and their music evolve as they do as people. Their lyrics on Critical Thinking do hark back to their past; ‘I wanna be in love with the man I used to be, in a decade where I felt free’ for example. OneManMilitia was written on the day of the funeral of the Queen and you can feel the fire in it.

Contrast then with the loving lyric of ‘Society used to be my enemy now I want to build a small one for you and me’.

Life catches up on all of us and I’m loving how they evolve as a band as I see myself similarly. Still strong opinions but older, life experience influencing how you express it all.

Magdelena Bay I do like, sonically very different I think to mainstream. It’s my Monday evening listen for a wind down.

Good morning all on this drizzly day here .I hope all are well and had a good night's rest . Not much going on here to report ,I did though watch some NBC news yesterday to see how those over the pond are taking the lunatic's behaviour ,it seems they are not too happy with his shenanigans I read this morning he had a row with Vlodymyr Zelenskyy so that is the end of his support I suppose ,it was interesting and a little reassuring that the judges can overrule the idiot .I am sure he is clinically insane .COYB

Morning all, lovely morning here, bright and frosty. We have a free day as we are not needed for childcare, dog care etc. We were thinking of going to the Posh game this afternoon but the tickets are £23 each, being the pair of cheapskates we are have opted to use our free bus passes and are going to Kings Lynn instead.

That “ row with Zelensky” was truly appalling behaviour even by Trump and Vance standards, coordinated bullying in front of world television.
The problem with Judges is that ultimately Trump has loaded the Supreme Court with his picks . Enough though, he just makes me angry

Yes I agree they just shouted him out accusing him of being ungrateful despite him expressing his gratitude there and then ,I have googled a word for him -Mythomaniac .Fits him perfectly after him stating they have given 350 billion although last week he quoted 300 billion and even that was untrue .On the judge point I won't be surprised when that judge is hounded out .

Had a lovely romantic evening last night in the City and enjoyed this menu. Dublin are in town this evening, and with my other half loving football as much as me, of course we talked tactics the whole time . For the context of the game, us as reigning All Ireland Champions against the previous winners- 18k sellout and great atmosphere ahead.

Weather is so lovely and done loads of gardening recently that we are miles ahead of our usual schedule in getting the garden ready.

Mind you I've been putting off sprucing up the garden furniture and tackling the bog garden.
