Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

It's a very interesting question and yes I always like to speak with locals about how they view the UK.

Most are just sad that we left and can't understand why we did ...which pretty much sums up my feelings.

However I fear we will see a lurch to the extreme right in Europe which in turn will put a strain on the integrity of the EU
My own Spanish experience of Brexit views is normally hands up in the air gesture of ‘why’? Conversation then normally goes to how my Irish passport bypasses queues in the airport although I do point out this has only happened once.

I think as you say, the far right lurch, does help people understand how it happened though. Most importantly though, it’s nice to be able to discuss like minded views with people from different countries. Good people will always find good people.

I feel the same about Trump. Its frightening stuff. Did you hear him refer to Justin Trudeau as the Governor of Canada. That wasn't a slip of the tongue.
Yep. Saw that and tbh that's what scares me the most. He's totally open about it and the same with Greenland and Panama. He'd be the same with Mexico except he doesn't want Mexico as a state. He truly believes in his ability to make it happen. He's insane. Biggest threat to world security since Hitler.

How long before he tries to change the Constitution so he can run for a third term. You just hope that Congress and their judicial system are strong enough to stand up to him.

There's been some priceless videos on TikTok over the last couple of days. The usual guff from the RS which are hilarious, but I've also enjoyed the neutrals take, who have all said without exception that it was a fantastic match, spectacle and atmosphere. And and absolute credit to the Premier League. It must have been unbelievable to actually have been there Val. Not sure if you've seen any but I particularly enjoyed the videos of the old steward celebrating the equaliser.
Pickford’s knee slide as Slott exploded is my favourite.

The man is a bully a felon and a overall idiot, he wants to make us the 51st state, every day he makes ludicrous statements,
I’m dreading what the next 4 yrs of this clown running what use to be our good neighbors

At a hockey game yesterday in Montreal the fans were booing the American anthem

I read about that - not usual Canadian behaviour. It shows the depth of feeling.

Yeah I've seen that but from a different angle.

Love Jordan and was one of the few on here that continued to back him during his iffy spell under Carlo. He really gets Everton, similar to Coleman.
I love him too. He doesn't get the credit he deserves. Especially from England - journos always trying to find someone better than him - and none of them are.

I read an article recently about how Hitler dismantled the German processes of Government within 53 days of him being elected, effectively allowing him to bypass the legislative powers - turning him into a dictator. The parallels were frightening.

Bonjour mes amis.

Rainy and overcast today .

A nice relaxing day until we strap ourselves in for another white knuckle ride at 5.30.

Will we be emotionally drained, will we be physically knackered or can Moyes come up with yet another master plan to get us over the line? All will be revealed later .

In the meanwhile it's doing Granny's housework ( cleaner has a cold which sensibly she doesn't want to pass on ) a visit to.the gym and then watch the results come in.

The RS or Wolves? It's a tricky one. Are we certain of staying up yet ? Probably not so let's go for a draw please although in reality I think the RS will batter them.

Anyway have a lovely day everyone.

Did you see the speech to EU members fron VP Vance yesterday? He couldn't have been more insulting if he tried. Not to mention hypocritical with him questioning Europe's democracy and free speech.

I think it's fair to say that the US government can no longer be considered an ally.

I've always been interested in 1930s Germany and have gravitated to literature and films/tv from the period. The only thing missing from modern day Anerica is the brown shirt militia equivalent. I wouldn't rule that out though. Looking at some of the stuff coming out of the US there won't be any shortage of volunteers. And we've already seen what they are capable of.
