Is it lack of charging points around the country or why are sales of EV’s going down?

Charging points is obviously one issue, especially in cities and towns where people don’t have off road parking. Mileage between charges being another and the fact that EV’s are expensive to buy and do not retain second hand value. The nearest town to our village is four miles away, both garages have EV charging areas but you rarely see anyone using them…..

If they are supposed to be seen being electric- what's making gthe electric to keep charging g the car? the national grid is at total output atm?
Hydrogen engines seem to do the future imo - that Sinclair computer guy with his electric scooter never got laughed at for nothing- back then ..

I just checked and it looks like the nearest charging point to me is 13 miles away. Not the most convenient unless of course you have a port at home.

Is there a reason why EV’s don’t hold second hand value?

Watch the video I posted ,the residual values are bombing because of a few factors .The main one is no one has any idea of the battery condition when and how it has been used .
I suppose that it depends on the manufacturer. With Lexus the battery has a lifetime guarantee......provided that the car is serviced by them in accordance with the cars service intervals.

I was / am seriously considering an electric car to replace Mrs Js BMW estate .

We are fortunate in that we have a big driveway for home charging but as you rightly say Pete the range is putting me off . The initial acquisition cost is very high ( but then running costs are lower ) but as someone who forgets to change his phone overnight I'd be petrified of the car having no battery charge when I want to use it and / or running out of charge on the road.

That said it is the future I suppose so I will have to get used to it / embrace it sooner rather than later.

Our other car is a self charging hybrid and that suits me fine.
Morning all.

Raining again, shock horror. Another walker said to me this morning "when will it stop raining", so glad it isn't just me.

Congrats @fandjango on the engagement, sounds like a very romantic time, very pleased for you.

Sick of Dyche and this team now. I have stopped watching, my eyes bleed and it's not good for my neck all these hoofs. it is the worst football going.

I watched an interesting news report yesterday, it made me realise once again people are being duped and lied too. They say electric cars are good for the environment, however I would suggest people look at how lithium is mined and harvested and then buy an electric vehicle. It ruins eco systems and of course in places that are fairly poor. I was shocked.

Oh well another day of getting wet. Have a good day the rest of you.
T , this is something that I wasn't aware of , thanks. I need to do more research.
