Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hello everybody, I had a very successful shopping trip to Durham. I think I've got everything present wise apart from a couple of things for Mr F. I had a bit of a moment in Card Factory when I saw all the Dad cards. It's funny how these things creep up on you out of nowhere. I've been thinking about him loads recently - probably because Everton are actually performing well for a change. and of course the time of year.
Since this morning I've also watched Beto's post match interviw, he's lovingeverything, the club, the fans, the singing to him, everything apart from the weather. He's very endearing.
I see Joey Barton is making noise again. Trying to stay relevant. Totally vile human being.

I think the first year is always the worst when you lose someone, but Christmas is particularly poignant because of the focus on family. You’ll always have moments and they will be unexpected but grief is a kind of expression of love I think. I lost my dad in 1978 but I still have those moments especially when I’m faced with something that relates to him, like anything to do with the RAF, or music which he loved such as Nat King Cole and the Carpenters. No matter how old you are, or how old they were, it’s always tough to lose a loved parent. Thinking of you Anje 💙.
And oh yes, you have to love Beto don’t you

Woke up at the crack of dawn for some reason and can’t catch sleep again. So a very early good morning from me. Bit of packing today for me as we are off to Cologne on Monday morning for a break, and I want to leave Sunday free so I can go to the game feeling organised. I am worryingly feeling confident about Sunday’s game and should probably know better.Have a lovely Saturday everyone

It’s the moments that catch you unawares. My Mum loved Wizzard I wish it could be Christmas and would dance round the room with our two and later the grandchildren, I always brace myself when going in shops in case it is playing. I had a moment in Asda the other day not because of the music but something said by the assistant. As she gave me my change she said “Thank you very much, bless you” memories of Mum came flooding back. Didnt matter who it was family, shop assistants, medical staff my Mum would always reply “Thank you very much, my duck, bless you”. I told the assistant how good it was to hear someone say it and she replied “Your Mum sounds like a lovely lady”, brought a tear to my eye and without thinking I replied “She was, bless you” we both had a laugh. Don’t know what the rest of the people in the queue thought, well I probably do “ Cut the cackle and get on with it” lol

Organisation by OMD.

I was never into them like you Anj but I think it's one of their early ones.

And , of course the Southport band play Non stop erotic cabaret, an all time favorite
Did you get to listen to the two yes albums? What did you think? They're the type of albums (or group for that matter) that take more than one listen.

I doubt Rick will be playing any of those tracks at the concert anyway, given that they all take up a whole side of an album. perhaps close to the edge.

I call them "moments", and they literally spring up out of nowhere as you say. But it's all part of the grieving process Anj. You'll probably find you'll feel it more over the festive period too.

Agreed on Beto. Some of the fans on here give our players such a hard time if they don't become superstars immediately. It's why I'm so pleased that the likes of Myko, McNeil and Onana are doing so well now. Some of the stuff written about them last season on here was horrendous. I'm sure Beto will come good too and the same for Patterson.

On a different note I'm getting in touch with the younger me by watching a fair bit of tik tok. There's a fantastic clip where some Newcastle player is squaring up to Pickford at the end, and Branthwaite stepped in to protect him. I mean he's 21 FFS. lol
