Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

They have pretty much got it sorted. Very small - just parents and siblings attending. so 10 people including them. They are having the wedding itself in a place called Chapel on the hill in Nottingham. They have rented a house for everybody to stay the night and have hired a chef to come and cook a meal in the house after the wedding. It should be lovely. Future daughter in law has already picked her dress.
Aw that sounds just lovely.

Hello everybody. It's been another mild, rain free day today. Son has gone back to Nottingham - it was really nice to see him and we had a lovely night last night just chilling and having a few drinks.. The cat was overjoyed to see him. He was always her favourite and as sooon as she heard his voice she ran downstairs to see hin and then sat on his knee at every available opportunity. I went to the gym after he left - hoping to undo some of last night's excesses.

I'm really looking forward to joining my new tean tomorrow and doing something a bit different. I was also becoming very stressed in the team I was in. There has never had an issue with my work. I hope you don't think I'm bragging but I am consistently the highest performing caseworker in the team and I've only had one high risk error (where I didn't bar somebody who QA thought should have been barred. I still think I was right 🤣 ) in eight and a half years. My last two annual appraisals have been 'outstanding'. About eight months ago we got a new team manager. Everything I have sent to her she has sent back with something wrong even if she agreed with the decision. She's disagreed with my decisons - of the five I've asked to be referred to the next grade up the result is 4-1 in my favour. I had got to the point where I don't know my ar*e fron my elbow, and I'm overthinking everything. So much so that in October I've only closed three referrals. I usually do anywhere bewteen 8 and 12. So I can't wait to get away from her.

Anyway apologies for the moaning. Let's move on to better things. I thought we did alright yesterday. Would you have taken four points and a cup quarter final spot at the beginning of the week. I would. I think I'm with @fandjango - In Dyche we trust. He's definitely getting there, we look mentally stronger and his management of DCL has been really good - actually giving him time to recover.

I'm meeting one of my friends on Wednesday for one of our regular pie, chips and mushy pea lunches. That will also be fun but may also require additional gym time.

So glad Mrs Pete is feeling better @peteblue . I hope the helping your friend went well @Gwladysover - you' re a good egg!
Have a lovely Sunday evening all x
Good luck for tomorrow @anjelikaferrett , I hope you are appreciated in your new post it’s horrible to be in that situation and I’m glad you’ve got a way out of it.

Sorry Phil , hope I haven't missed something but can you explain the final sentence.

How did your mum become famous with OMD?
Ha, sorry I obviously wasn’t paying attention when I wrote that, so it’s a grammatical error on my behalf.

My mum is far from famous, but she did work with him in Lewis’s. She was also Craig Charle’s childminder and friends with Steve Coppell.

Good to hear you had a great time with your son, were any wedding plans discussed? The house move went well thanks. We have offered to go back tomorrow and help clean the one they have just vacated because we are such good eggs either that or our brains are scrambled! Good luck with the new job tomorrow, you’ll smash it.
That’s a nice thing to do for the new owners. Not everyone is like that, when my son bought his first place it was horrific- the freezer was like something out of ice age and I actually found a plastic bag with two fish in the middle of a block of ice when I was defrosting it 😮🤢. I would never dream of leaving a house in such a state I would be too embarrassed

Sounds lovely and intimate 💙

That’s brilliant, apparently you should be able to see them from where we are but there’s the little matter of the clouds 🙁
Val , if the night sky looks a bit different to the north take a picture , it’s surprising what a camera picks up ! Auroras of course are more visible on clear nights …when it’s freezing cold 🤷‍♂️

I was on the couch cuddled up with the dog (first night of fireworks and she hated it, so dreading tomorrow) and it was a great few hours of listening to music.

The weather looks much calmer today, so I am off out soon to give her an hour walk before taking my son to Manchester to play football.
Hope your dog has been ok tonight my little Leo has been going off his nut all night he has finally settled down now in the middle of my bed

I’ve just looked out in the garden and the sky is a bit cloudy at the mo. We debated whether to go and find somewhere where we would have a good northern horizon view without much street light but decided it would be a half an hour drive so we decided against it. Apparently there’s a good chance of seeing them for the next few days so weather permitting I might go out searching tomorrow night 🤞
