As you say everyone has the right but if you look at back at @fandjango 's previous art you might be forgiven for being a bit let us say premature in your judgement . No I don't know him personally and have no axe to grind.Happy New year .

Good morning all on this dark and chilly day today here in Finland. I hope all slept well and have aa great day today . Shopping with the slave driver today ,how I haven't lost a stone weight I don't know but her leg is getting better as she mentioned it might not be long before it comes off .It is surprising how you get a routine with helping ,fetching and carrying. COYB

I’m just in the studio back at work on the flamenco commission and thinking about the very valid comments made by @peteblue yesterday
I think what is missing from a photograph like the one I’ve posted is the tactile and abstract nature of this piece … far from being rushed it’s actually a several weeks in the making piece following instructions from a particularly fussy buyer of mine who wanted me to mix the fire of flamenco with some abstraction
She came to see and “feel” the painting yesterday evening and is pretty excited by its “presence” as she describes it
So all in all I’m in a place where I can accept it as it is ….. almost … there’s still detail to complete and for me with this client that means working on the paint quality and finish
The painting will finish today then a couple of weeks drying …. There’s a lot of layers of oil over acrylic to create the abstraction in the dress flames …. Then it will be varnished and I’ll build a float frame for it and send it off
Busy day for me but the sun is shining so I’ll work outside

Good morning all. I've had a lovely few days between here and Liverpool. Its been so relaxed and chilled. Son and girlfriend went back to Nottingham last night.
No plans for the rest of the week. Unbelievably I may have to go shopping! We are on our last tin of cat food and need detergent and fabric softener. Speaking of the cat - after bigging her up to son and gf about how good she had been with the Christmas tree, not ten minutes later she knocks the whole thing down. Baubles and candy canes all over the place!

I leave strings of white lights up around the house all year. I think it makes the rooms cheery. My son likes having them up, too.
I’m 40 and still get really down when the big day is all over. Boxing Day is usually a nice lazy day where we get into the pressies we got and kind of relive the day a bit but after that it always feels a bit flat. It’s obviously just the fact there’s a pretty abrupt halt to (at least) a month’s worth of build up.
Funny thing is that my kids are fine with it. It’s just me scrolling back through photos of turkey and Chrimbo hat selfies all misty eyed.
Took the outside lights down today and will gather up some of the smaller deccies as we go along over the coming days so at least the big tree takedown won’t feel so daunting when the time comes.
Only 361 more sleeps though, eh!?

RIP Pele the greatest player to ever play football. I was so lucky as a 12 year old to see him play live when in 1973 Santos had a European tour and played a friendly at Plymouth.
Not seen @Barnfred 55 on here for a few days , hope you are recovering from the excess mate .
After 4 days of drinking , eating and no exercise I felt horribly bloated and out of shape. Interestingly when I went back to the gym on 27th I weighed exactly the same as normal but just didn't feel right. 3 big sessions and I feel so much better. Another gym visit today.
NYE will follow our recent tradition, a Chinese lunch and then a bit of party food and vino and Jools Holland's Hootenanny. I will have a modest drink with my New Years Day lunch but that will be it for the rest of January.
Very windy and rainy later so think I will catch up on the house work and listen to some music and basically avoid any Everton chat , there's enough depressing news flying around.
