Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

That’s me done for Christmas. Not settled yet though. Honestly a stressful couple of weeks that I felt I was better equipped for. Lost sleep and angry at myself for the self doubt.

Great today and energised for the work in the New Year.

2 nights ago I woke distressed about work and it took ages to settle.

Im good now.
Take it easy mate.

I didn't realise just how much work stressed me out until I retired.

Good morning all on this wintery day here in Finland .So sad that sassy isn't with us as she was the glue holding this thread together .As @Ducans elbow elbow says she will be missing Karl ,perhaps more than we do .She was in constant contact spurring him on and I know he was so glad and appreciative of her . Life deals up these torments and why she did what she did to have herself thrown off is a puzzle we may never know the answer to ,sadly. I for one miss the multiple replies and the care she showed to all who posted .
I hope all slept well and have a great day today .COYB
A bit sad for Rondon ,I wish him well as he seemed a nice guy who gave his all and got so much stick.

Morning all, cold and bright here. @Barnfred 55 hope raising a glass last evening brought back many happy memories. @Armaghtoffee relax and enjoy your break from work. @fandjango and @Terrarian hope you are both okay.
Off to Morrisons soon, hate shopping at the best of times and Saturdays just before Christmas are the worst, still it has to be done. Have a good day, all.?

Just woke up to the sound of rain on the skylight above my head. I'm afraid I must have raised a few too many glasses last night. Why do I do it.?

Black coffee and chocolate pastries for brekkie followed by posh sausage butty for lunch beckons. And a day in front of the telly feeling sorry for myself. Only thing missing is an Everton defeat.

It is that time of year Fred ,I am sure you don't always feel on top of the world .We are here for you don't forget ,time is a great healer they say but they don't tell us how much of it we need .Stay strong that man ,oh and have a nice beer watching the racing .

Racing is frozen off Blue. Replaced by episodes of The Sweeney and The Saint. At least my betting pot isn't taking a hit. Not been very lucky lately. Mind you, I still have the £50 I opened it with about 6 years ago. ;)

I've not really dwelled on it, but you're quite right, it does for some reason feel a bit harder at this time of year. Probably because Cal loved Christmas. We'd have been out most days visiting the Christmas market in Truro or the plethora of large country houses that decorate at this time of year or hold seasonal fairs selling seasonal fayres. If you get my drift.

But you get to play the cards you're dealt and I accept my life is very different these days. I get by and count myself fortunate that there are many people a lot worse off than me. That's one of the things I learned from Karl. A true inspiration that lad.

Just got home today from a brief sojourn to your neck of the woods. “Wintery” is a bit of an understatement!! First and only al fresco pee I’ll ever take in -30C temperatures… Beautiful place, though.

Can’t believe it was a year already since Karl passed. Great to see this thread still going strong in his honour. Hope Sass is doing well, too, no doubt terrorising another random forum, somewhere.
