I like that it's just a general mix thread. It would be to morbid if it wax just about the main topic. I also like talking Everton in here because I know even if folk disagree with me it will stay in a friendly tone. My favourite threads in main Everton forum are youth team thread, players out on loan, the squad analysis and the contract thread. I've always been a geek so they are the most appealing. I like both cats and dogs but they both need to much attention. When I was born family already had a dog that lasted until I was 11. We had nothing initially then when my dad died when I was 12 we ended up getting a cat over the next 4 years we got 4 more the 5 cats got on OK. The last 3 all died in a 3 week period in 2015. I've had nothing since. The last 3 got me through the most depressing period of my life when I was out of work. If it hadn't been for them I would have had no reason to get out of bed so I'll always be grateful to them. Even if I did torment them, they must have liked it as they rarely left my side.
Animals are loyal to a fault tbf to them. We have a dog and a cat at the moment, wife found the cat on the side of the road one night on the way home from work around 11 years ago and she is with us since, not that she is any way thankful for it, she isnt one of those, here rub me please cats more of a i will scratch your eyes out if you come near me kind of thing. Dog is a big boy ( Cross between a bloodhound and German Shepard by all accounts) with a gentle soul, didnt realise he would be that big when we got him from the shelter as a pup. Have a three year old daughter who just swings off him all day, hugging him, kissing him, sitting on him, lying near him and on top of him etc, but Daddy hes my friend............. poor dog is looking up at you and you know he is pleading, just give me 30 mins in the bedroom please where i can get some peace and quiet, but he never once reacts badly to her or refuses to play with her. He is an a absolute legend.
I dont venture into the main forum much anymore tbh, spent years on my local teams (Cork City) forum arguing about players, managers, BOM etc and i just dont enjoy it anymore, so tend to stick to reading stuff in the ale house really, the vibe is more relaxed and that suits me.
