Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

It's a toughie AT.

I'm pretty used to playing at a decent standard but time really seems to have caught up with me quickly.

Add in I'm no longer willing to play with injuries and whilst in pain and then that if the weather's like this I don't particularly want to go out driving at night and my enthusiasm for playing is being eroded. Also difficult at home with mum at the moment which is pretty much affect my view on everything.

Will I stay involved beyond this season? I'd probably give up my involvement in running the league but would hope to play recreationally.

Coaching? To be honest we really don't have too many juniors coming through at the moment in my club so probably not , especially with my lack of patience.
Things are conspiring against you at the minute but I think it important you at least stay involved recreationally. I’ve lost count of the good people who take some time out and never make it back into the club. It’s such a good outlet for you never mind what you can offer others.

Good morning all. Happy birthday for next week @fandjango . Enjoy your meet up with friends and family. It sounds like a good time will be had by all! @blueloon I hope you feel better today - that must have been a shock to your system. @peteblue I can't add anything to what others have said. Very difficult for you and also very sad. @Gwladysover enjoy your time in York. @Armaghtoffee I've made soup too. Split pea and ham. My Nan used to make it so it's known amongst me and my cousins as Nanny's Soup. My daughter asked me for the recipe yesterday so I told her if she makes it she will be the 4th generation to do so!
Frankie is still her. Mum came to visit when she got up yesterday. He's been a little angel - he only woke up once both nights and had one massive crying fit yesterday when we were a bit slow making his bottle. He cried proper tears as well. That made me so sad. I had forgotten how labour intensive babies are. Mr F and I are exhausted🤣
We go away next Monday.I have never been so badly prepared for a holiday. The weekend isn't any good either because the Liverpool lot are coming up on Saturday for Frankie's Christening on Sunday. Im off tomorrow but I've got one of those eye tests where you can't drive gor hours afterwards.
Have a lovely day all x

Oh my word Pete ,it must be the worst feeling ever .Rest assured Kay knows what you are doing for her and thanks you from the bottom of her heart .She cannot say it so I will " I love you Pete and thank you for all you have done for me ,I will love you forever ,Kay "
I have no idea what you feel at this moment Pete but I am here for a chat and I am sure the kids would want to be updated as it is their lovely Mother .
I support you keeping Kay at home as you know Kay best and you have done so well for Kay until now and I am sure for her remaining time with you .
It breaks my heart typing this Pete as I feel I know you quite well and how heartbreaking this will be for you .Stay strong that man .All our best A & B

Thank you Blue, you’ve always been a good friend on here and the support given by you and your wife has really helped. Obviously we don’t know how long Kay has, hopefully years but we’ll continue to take it one day at a time. Getting that document knocked me for six but it’s all due process I suppose. Anyway, thanks……

So sorry to read that Pete.

I had the same very difficult conversation with the medics about the decision not to resuscitate mum and given the resultant form.

To be frank the conversation was , I thought, rushed and even I felt a bit pressurised but when I reflected on it later I do believe that it was the right decision for mum.

However I remain concerned that the way these decisions are arrived could be achieved in a more humane holistic way.

Best of luck mate.

Thanks Jazzy, I appreciate that an awful lot of people go through or are going through this sort of thing, it was just a shock really….

We have received an ‘End of Life’ care form from the doctors basically asking where Kay should pass away, home, care home, hospital etc, resuscitation if required etc etc.I’ve tried to protect my other three children, Adam has already read the form, but felt I had to update the other three on this next stage. It really brings it home to you, I intend to say we will continue to care for Kay at home unless she becomes really ill, then it will be hospital….
So very sorry Pete that you and your family find yourself in this situation.
Words fail me sometimes, I wish you all the very best and I've no doubt Kay will be getting the best love and care at home. 💙

I was Orienteering near Aviemore yesterday and had two bad falls in the forest, in the 2nd I hit my head on the ground and have some marked , bloody, scars . Usually I bounce back straight away but I’m also thinking it’s maybe time to give this up, stick to road running.

Eventually everyone loses their ‘bounce back’ ability I’m afraid….

Scouse is like our stew, very close to it but I think stew is thicker. I have only tried Scouse a few times though in fairness, largely because stew is so common here. I would say the Finnish dish was brought by sailors, same as how Scouse Mum’s brought stew with them to Liverpool from Ireland.

Coddle is another Irish stew, mostly made now to con tourists out of £20 than reasons of taste or nourishment.
Is that Molly's favourite?
