That is a lovely idea. x2021 has been one *swear sentence removed* of a year.
What a brilliant bloke we've lost.
Is there anything set up for Messy yet, charity wise?
I'm afraid I don't have the time to search back these days so sincerest apologies if I've missed it.

There was a beautiful girl on tv earlier who was given a terminal prognosis 5 years ago. It was heart breaking seeing her talk about her young girls and the future but like our Karl, she was a real warrior.
I have no doubt whatsoever that Karl would give this a big thumbs up.
The idea of setting up a charity in Karl's name is laudable but as someone who has been involved in the running of a charity I can assure you that it is not straightforward.2021 has been one *swear sentence removed* of a year.

Once you have established the aim / purpose of the charity you will then gave to raise the necessary initial and then ongoing finance. And of course you will need to appoint trustees to run it .
Perhaps it might be better to have something named in Karl's honour.

Like you Tommy I was a relatively late follower of this thread.Sure we can set up a GoFundMe or something mate?
Something to help ease the burden of the family and show our appreciation for him sharing his time with
I think we sent /will send flowers on behalf of everyone.
Not 100% about a go fund thing if I am honest. If folk want to remember him with a donation to sommet, Cancer UK or similar, in his name, would be my suggestion.
I was very moved when a poster made a donation to Dogs Trust in memory of Nikki. A few hundred quid via Go Fund wouldnt have had the same impact.
It's a lovely touch that mate and typical of true blue family what he/she did for your dearly departed.
You raise very fair points, I've always just been a believer a collective donation is more powerful.
I could be wrong (probably am).
Maybe @Reedy1979 could let us know if his family have asked for donations to a particular charity or place. There is nothing wrong in a collective donation, obvs.
But, for me, such a donation, collective or individual, is more appreciated as going to a cause that would mean sommet to our late friend.
But each to there own isnt it? No right nor wrong.
That's still a great stint Meths, all the best to you and yours when it comesBest wishes to your Mum and Dad. They beat us by 3 years! We were married in 1959, your parents must have married in 1956. Didn't even know her indoors in 1956, I was in Singapore and Malaya - National Service.
