It was more browsing , but I was looking for “ For the Glory” a book about Scottish runner and missionary Eric Liddell , he of “ Chariots of Fire Fame” who was very impressive in his life, a real inspiration.

I did buy a book called “ The Round “ about an epic circuit of hills in the Lake District called “ The Bob Graham Round “ . I’m sending it on to my oldest friend who’s suffered a family loss recently.

Good morning all on this lovely sunny day here in Hyvinkää.I hope all are well and had a good night especially @anjelikaferrett 's son who might have been in some pain .It is the a special day here in Finland today and lots get sloshed on champagne in the main park in Helsinki mainly steered on by tradition and students.We will have a bottle with our fish course later followed by copious amounts of red wine and a brandy for the better half .We used to have aquavit ,a Scandi schnapps but and we only drink it on 1st May .Interestingly this was loaded onto car carrying vessels and taken to Japan and back ,apparently it smoothes the alcohol ,locals put it in a tumble dryer -not hot.ve a great day all COYB

Interesting (or not ) fact of the day, I saw Charnock Richard win the Macron Cup final in May 2022

Was that the one played at Chorley - I remember my son went but can’t remember why I didn’t go. Sadly 1-0 defeat last night but it was interesting to see another ground .
