Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all. What a dismal display that was. I'm convinced that the prospect of a second points deduction has knocked the stuffing out of everybody connected with the club - except perhaps Moshiri who doesn't care at all. It's human nature. They worked so hard after the first one, only to be hit with news of possibly another one, you can see why in the back of their minds is a nagging ' what's the point?' question. We need some goals. The final ball is dreadful. One bright spot - I thought Tarkowski was great last night.
Anyway. Hope you all have a lovely day.

You've hit the nail on the head blue.

There is no joy in watching Everton. The football is turgid beyond belief.

Honestly it's like pulling teeth.

My heart goes out to really loyal fans like @Val P .

All my Everton supporting mates have given up going to the match .
There were quite a few season ticket holders by us missing last night, I felt sorry for the people who’d paid full whack on the resale platform.

Absolute cheek of it from someone from St Helens! Although some wiganers are a bit dodgy to be fair. Our meal out last night was entertaining. Couple on next table (Wiganers) discussing that Everton shouldn’t be allowed to build a new stadium. Then he said he’d never met a rich scouser!! So when mr P went to the loo I made him ring me up so they could listen to my Spirit of the blues ringtone 😂 and gave them an icy stare. No wonder I married a scouser.
When I read this I thought “ I spent 3 nights in St Helens in 1972, never been back “ 🙂. I was working for Fibreglass who were then part of Pilkington’s and on a 3 day training course. Last week I received a letter from Aviva saying I had a £37.44 Guaranteed Pension , weird as I thought I knew all my pension details . I’ve just followed it up and the nice Michael said it came from Pilkington’s from back in ‘72, he’s going to forward all details on how to claim it. It seems something good has come out of St Helens 😉

At the end of the match I was thinking : “ Oh to have a game when I’m not picking Tarkowski as my MOTM because our forwards and midfielders are running the show and scoring goals “ . He’s becoming a legend, Branthwaite and Mykolenko have improved alongside him, even Godfrey is playing better.

Hi everybody. I hope you are all having a fun Monday. Sounds like a good night @Ducans elbow. And you seem to be having a most excellent adventure @Barnfred 55! Well done for keeping Rosie and the visitor apart @jazzy. Doees she not like other dogs generally or is it that particular one invading her space that she objects to. Interesting times ahead for our team- hopefully starting with a win tonight. It's just been announced that Roy Hodgson is stepping down due to ill health- I thought that would happen, they wouldn't want to sack him under his current circumstances.
Mr F may have a part time job lined up. He's waiting for a couple of things to be confirmed so fingers crossed.
No doubt catch up later after the match x
Oh good luck to Mr F 🤞🤞

Well there has to be something I suppose 😂. To be fair I bear no animosity to St Helens or it’s population- live and let live unless of course you’re a kopite 😉

Thanks @jazzy I really do wonder why we all bother, but there we are, week in, week out, keeping hopeful before the game on the concourse, shaking our heads at each other on the way out. If Everton were a person a psychologist would have a field day analysing the dysfunction in the relationship. I do have to say that if we don’t get any points back there’s a creeping sense of inevitability that we will get relegated this year more so than ever. I was listening to talk sport on the way home from the game and they were scathing about the state of the club, the boring football and pitying the supporters. As angry as I felt at the attack on our club, objectively I had to agree with them. There does feel to be a sense that others are not on our side at all anymore.
Desperate times. On a positive note I thought the ref Tierney had a reasonable game and thought maybe my cheery disposition in the gym had helped 😂😂

Excellent analysis.

To be fair I gave up my season ticket a few years ago and probably only go to 3 or 4 matches a season ( simply because I couldn't justify the time spent on going given that the only thing I enjoyed was the pre match pint with my mates ) so I am genuinely in awe of supporters such as yourself . To be honest just watching them on TV frustrated the hell out of me.

There is often a debate about whether a fan who doesn't go to the game is as passionate about the club as someone who does.

The one thing I will say is that whilst I care deeply about Everton as a club , I am able to go to the game so cannot be as passionate about them as yourself.

Kudos to you and Mr P.

In other news I hope that @Barnfred 55 has made it safely back to Cornwall.

@anjelikaferrett good news about Mr Fs job!

I can confirm I'm back in one piece and on the wagin for the next 3 days.

Evening each. Volunteered to have grandkids nos 3&4 for the day, you would think we would know better by now but there’s no fool like an old fool or a grandparent! Anyway after bus trip to Stamford, pub lunch, baking banana bread, trying to teach them to knit and cooking pancakes for tea, I’m exhausted. Have a good evening all , I’m watching Blackpool v Posh on telly.
PS. fingers crossed for Mr F. @anjelikaferrett
