Yesterday I very tentatively had a foray into the world of wedding attire. I have no clue what to get. I foolishly googled Mother of The Groom and OMG, a whole array of dos and don'ts popped up - most notably, don't outshine the mother of the bride! Its also OK to wear patterns. I'll sleep better knowing that! 🤣Future daughter in law wants jewelled tones as a theme so I might go for some sort of greeny colour - emerald, jade.
Two day week this week. Looking forward to a very long weekend. Have a good day all x

It’s a nightmare shopping for wedding stuff when you’re mum of the groom. I couldn’t find anything I liked so I decided what I wanted and got a local tailoress to make it for me. No more expensive than buying from wedding places, in fact I’d say probably cheaper. Green will be beautiful with your colouring.

When our daughter was married I didn’t want anything “Mother of the Brideish “, I couldn’t find anything locally so had to go further afield. After various trips which took weeks and the wedding fast approaching I found what I was looking for - a navy blue tailored suit which fitted perfectly. I emerged from the changing room in all my glory to be told in no uncertain terms by my darling child “You’re not wearing that - you look just like an air stewardess”.
 

Morning everyone. Well today would have been David Bowie’s 77th birthday. To me he was the greatest and I loved him from when I first listened to Hunky Dory when I was about 12 or 13. My 3 favourite songs (although this changes depending on what mood I’m in) are
1. Time from Aladdin Sane
2. Stay from Station to Station
3. Changes from Hunky Dory

in fact I might put a playlist on today while I’m doing some chores

Been playing Bowie this morning, my faves change every day but easier for me as not keen on anything after 85
 
Morning all. Chaos down the street this morning. The cul de sac near us is being resurfaced so restricted access for the next couple of days. No parking cones along our road by the entry to the cul de sac, residents of the cul de sac have parked their cars between the cones. The road workers turn up and have to get the cars moved, as they can’t get their machinery into the turning. That’s today’s entertainment. lol
@blue1948 hope Mrs Blue gets on okay at the dentist.
@Val P , our DIL is a massive David Bowie fan, never really appealed to me although I did like The Laughing Gnome.

Me and the fiancee are in my hometown for a long weekend since Friday as there's name day celebrations and all that around, and we didn't come around Xmas. I work from home mostly so it's whatever but man, I don't feel like doing anything at all lol

Also bought tickets for Brian Cox's "Horizons" show as it's in Sofia in April. I assumed as it was announced a few days ago itself there'd be a lot of free seats, but nah, it's already like 60% full, 4 months in advance. Similar to how Jimmy Carr was here in a small venue and it was booked to the brim instantly - I never assumed my fellow Bulgarians would have interest in these acts!
 
Back from the dentist and the wife had a filling where a tooth had broken and two more replacements out with the amalgam in with whatever -no needles ! She is made of rock ,whereas I am only rock from the shoulders up . I got some lamb's liver from the halal shop so we cannot wait to have that ,sadly not this weekend as it is already booked .Have a lovely day all .

Big Bowie fan but for me there's only one standout. Heroes. Definitely near the top of my top 10 songs ever.

I'm also a huge Robert Fripp and Brian Eno fan though, so I'm probably a bit biased. :)
