Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Had that dreaded call that us of an age fear the other day. "Mum has had a fall". Thankfully, just a minor fracture of her wrist. In a sling, but she is a healthy, stoic scouse Mum.

After looking out for Nik, where my mantra to her was "we have all the time in the world, dont push things, patience", (she was built of similar steel that Mum is), repeating that to Mum seems to have dawned on her. Or as Nik and I always said; "Rules? There are NO rules). Spent a few days getting her a ship load of paracetemol and made sure she has a full fridge and freezer, bless her.

That said, she is off to a mates house this evening for supper! 87.
Best wishes and a speedy recovery to your Mum.?

There is a theory, in the spiritual world, that being close to water has a healing/peaceful property.

Without knowing that, every day for a few weeks after Nik left us, I would be drawn to walk round the Marina, chatting to her, and it always made me feel calmer, or sommet.
Chinese water music effect, sort of.

A good point re healing etc and I suppose biblical if you trace it right back to John the Baptist.

Anywhere that makes you feel calm like that is always worth a visit.

I am not a religious person, nor was Nik, but we were both in touch with "stuff", if that makes sense. In a nutshell, neither of us needed a book comprised of largely fairy stories to live our lives in good way.

The after life, what ever that is, has been kinda proved to me. That gives me succor that others get by reading/following a book. Neither is wrong. Nor right.

No offence meant to anyone who may disagree.

They just have sommet. Mates hubby is picking her up about now. He will take her back to her new flat later, and Mum will have a lovely evening.

The view across the Severn River is spectacular, I could literally spend hours just watching the ebb and flow, and the big ships coming and going. She loves it.
I am correct thinking it has a bigger tide than Liverpool ? I think the highest I ever remember was 23 ft.

Good morning all on the white covered day in Hyvinkää .I hope all slept well and have a great day . They say it will stay below zero for a while now ,it is snowing lightly which is nice ,bright and not too much work .View attachment 191307
I love seeing the snow falling, on the rare occasions it snowed here it the last couple of years it melted as soon as it hit the pavement.

Hello everybody. How's tricks? Sorry about your mum @roydo hope she makes a speedy recovery and also has a lovely evening. @Billy Dean loads of mince pies on sale - I bought some last week Tesco finest, they were half price. Really lovely - would recommend.

I think I've sorted Christmas We are going to Liverpool on Boxing Day, son and his girlfriend are also travelling from Nottingham to meet us there so we can see all the family, including my brother who will be visiting from Australia. Mr F threw a huge spanner in the works because he hasn't booked any time off - absolute divvy. @Barnfred 55 Don't know if you are travelling to Liverpool over Christmas but the Travelodge at Aigburth is only £50.

Car goes in for its MOT tomorrow. Wish me luck, I'm not confident.
