Picking cruise ship up in Barcelona on Monday. No direct flights from Newcastle to Barceona so we flew Lufthansa via Frankfurt. I did not book said flights! Why we couldn't have gone from somewhere else is beyond me!

Wouldn't it have been easier to have driven to Liverpool and gone Easyjet to Barca?

Morning all, sun coming out now after a cloudy start. Going for a walk this morning as I spent most of yesterday afternoon sitting in the armchair knitting and listening to the match commentary. Will be watching the Manchester derby with my Manure supporting friend via FaceTime this afternoon, so need to get some steps in before then as my step count for the weekend is low. I am knitting a jumper for Minnie the dachshund, never knitted anything for a dog before, I think it’s her colour, hope it fits. lol Have great day all.?

Taking the neighbours for lunch to the Ferryboat today. That's the one down on the Helford where all the local celebs go. It's to thank them for ferrying me about all the time, including the last 2 80 mile round trips to Newquay airport, not to mention bearing the full cost of the trips to and from Bristol airport recently. They won't take any money off me, and this way I get to enjoy a nice lunch out to, so everybody's happy. I'll probably go for the mussels (Anj probably had enough of them last night lol) as they're always lovely there. And maybe the crispy fried squid with chilli as a starter if it's on the menu today. I haven't been there since probably February. It's only just over a mile away but you can't get near the place over the summer. The locals get it back over autumn and winter.

If the weather's nice later we then plan to walk down to the river to pick our own mussels and clams, which the general public are allowed to do this time of year.
This needs to be done at low tide which this afternoon is about 2.30 so fits right in with our lunch plans. If we don't go today the forecast for tomorrow is really nice so we'll go then. I'll probably do mine Thai style with coconut milk rather than cream. I've never cooked mussels before but I've seen it done on TV so many times I'll be fine. Just need to know how long to cook them for and Michelle can tell me that.

Just done my betting for the Arc. Off out now to lunch. Weather is lovely and warm and sunny which is set to continue for the rest of the day, so got my wellies with me for the mussel picking afterwards.
