Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Flicking through the channels during the break in the Hundred cricket Mr G. came across The Magnificent Seven, he was a bit disappointed to have missed it, told him it wouldn’t matter if he joined it halfway- he must know it word for word by now. lol
Watched it myself and loved it, now onto a 35th viewing of Spartacus ;)

I don't iron basically BJ. I live in shorts and t shirts in the summer and jeans and the t shirts in the winter. Now and again I'll wear a smart shirt and I have about 10 waiting to be ironed. But now I've lost weight I have a healthy supply. In fact some of the shirts waiting to be ironed are probably too big for me.

I don't iron T shirts, shorts, jeans, jumpers (which you don't really need down here even in winter) or undies. I don't even iron sheets or pillow cases.?
Who irons shhets and pillow cases?

No idea mate. I know Cal never used to but I assumed some people do.

All the clean linen we got for the NT holiday properties had all been pressed.

Had a stressful afternoon trying to book the hotel for when I go upto Liverpool. Had a nightmare getting security for the card payment. Spoke to my bank a couple of times and still not sorted. The flights ere no problem, payment went through with no issue. Got everything else sorted re the cruise so I'll revisit the hotel problem tomorrow.

Wow you guys have been busy while I've been away from the forum.

Had a big table tennis tournament yesterday and spent the Saturday training for it.

Long story short played well but didn't win it. ( very Everton !)

Won all 5 matches in my group stage but then had to wait 3 hours to play a quarter final. Played OK and squeezed through but tiredness was starting to set in along with seizing up.

I was absoloutely battered by a guy almost 40 years younger than me in the semi final but all in all quite pleased I got so far . Perhaps if I'd had an @Armaghtoffee sized portion of fish and chips instead of my healthy salad I might have done better . Almost certainly I could have done with the pint of Guiness!

So , at least we didn't lose at the weekend . Big week for the club and Kopite Kev in bringing in reinfocrements and trying to shift a few to balance the books, don't envy him.

Good to see the beat goes on .......................

@roydo I'm sure your lad will have an incredible experience in NZ - just ask @fandjango for some tips !

@Barnfred 55 been there with all the paperwork for the cruise - I'm sure you will find it worth it and have a great time.

@anjelikaferrett well done to you and Mr F for your winnings . Are you both planning to retire to a tax haven like Seahouses now ?

@Sassy Colombian - lovely photos and continue to ignore the nutcases on here - well not on this thread but you know what I mean - I wasn't talking about any of you guys honestly !
@roydo Oi oi I’m actually still in NZ having a ball with my grandkids but one tip for everyone is get a camper from Britz for a week and do the thermal volcano trails and if your ladies fit tell him to do the Tongoriro alpine crossing which is an amazing 20km hike across the volcano used as Mt Doom in Lord if the Rings
Oh
And Rotorua has the official worlds greatest tourist attraction the canopy tour through the redwoods .... epic raised trails and zip lines ..truly unmissable

David Alton was my MP, running up to the 1979 election I saw an old classmate leafleting and canvassing for him. Said classmate is now Baron Rennard of Wavertree.
Blue Coat boy then? Being the convent educated Catholic girls, Blue Coat wasn't on our radar as much as St Edwards or SFX so I don't know many lads who went there. David Alton was our MP too - after there was a boundary shift. We ended up as part of Liverpool Mossley Hill constituency. My Mum did absolutely love him.

1979 was the first election I voted in.

Me lad and his GF are going there on a 2 year work visa mate. Renting their house, well her house, out in Bristol, and are basically scratching an itch before real life postpones it for 20 years. And before they are 30. Apparently visas get tougher after that.

Flying into Wellington, then, well who knows?

I would have loved to do something like that. My friend and I came very close to buying a bar in Skiathos in our early 20s but she changed her mind because her Mum became ill. Who knows how life would have turned out if that had happened.? Would still be an Evertonian though!

Like I have said before, Oliver has had a love of travel since he was a youngster. Utterly fearless about it. He spent a few months of his gap year walking the length of the Canadian/US border with a load of folk he had never met before. His GF has a similar approach, so when Oliver said to her he fancied chipping off to NZ, she delighted, and surprised him that she wanted to do the same.

Neither have a had particularly spectacular upbringing, money wise, but their attitude is a beacon to me.
