Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Well said. A little perspective is always good. Having said that I am currently mildly concerned about our prospects for next season but I think/hope Frank will do well.
I must confess I've got to the stage in life where if you can't influence or do something about it why worry when it's out of your control.

I'm lucky I've seen one staggeringly good Everton team , I'm so sorry for younger fans who have only seen dross. I struggle to see where our future support comes from.

Right now I'd take survival again next season .

As @Barnfred 55 so accurately said when he bravely or stupidly wandered into the debate on the main forum it will take 1 to 2 years of fiscal management for us to be out of this FFP / P&S cycle and be free to invest in the playing side.

One can only hope that by then we will have ;
1. Maintained our status in the top tier
2. Got rid of Moshiri
3. Not be constrained by the costs of the new stadium ( as Arsenal were for years )

Grim times ahead I'm afraid.

Last season we stayed up by the skin of our teeth . This season we've sold our only creative player capable of creating and scoring with no prospect of being able to secure adequate replacement...............................now where's that glass of wine.

Well I've only had one "boo" so far so maybe it was more brave than stupid. lol But I think most people are just ignoring it because it says something they don't want to hear. I can't criticise them mind you as I do exactly the same thing.:p

A big chunk of them just don't get it / understand ......"why haven't we bought a new striker yet"...."we need a whole new midfield"

Both true bur neither achievable given our finances.

I agree. It's why I'm still annoyed at selling Richarlison at such a skimpy price. Brazil's number 9 - keeps Gabriel Jesus out of the national side. It isnt what Spurs value him at that counts, it should be how valuable he was to us that set the benchmark for a price. I know we are skint and that probably played a part in tne negotiations but we seem to have undervalued him massively. We won't get as good a replacement for £60m but I genuinely think that none of that money will be spent. We'll end up with loans and free transfers. But who knows. I still think we'll do better than last season just because we haven’t got Benitez in charge.

You might be right Anj but others were saying that we HAD to sell Richarlison by 1July.
Whether that's true and at whose behest I don't know but if correct meant that we were constrained when it comes to getting the best price for him.

Also Raphinia and Jesus , comparators , have gone for similar fees ( less in Jesus case because only 1 year on the contract)

Good morning all ,I hope all are well and watered with no further problems.Up early this morning as I have ear ache ,so glad that I am going today to have it sorted out . I have a few health problems but the only pains I get are from my knees and back which can be managed .This ear ache has woken me up to the plight of others .It must terrible to be in constant pain as some on here ,you now have even more sympathy from me . Have a cool day all and I hope you get rain .COYB
I’m sorry to hear about your earache, hopefully by the time I catch up to this thread I read that you are feeling much better. Xxx
Madness to build a cricket ground without shade but then again how often do we get extreme temperatures ?
I guess it is going to continue happening more often than anyone wishes, but hey there is not such a thing a global warming according to some politicians.
So ear we are ,they decoked the left ear and I still cannot hear so antibiotics and different drops for a week ,it is like living in the 50's ! Everything is in mono. But we went picking blueberries befor e the appointment so the day was worth it ,we got 8 litres ! Funny how the Finns measure a lot of solid stuff by volume especially mushrooms . I am wearing socks and slippers just for Fred .View attachment 174362
Nice pic, Blue! What are you going to do with all those blueberries?
Well all I can say is that cricket never really appealed to me but I certainly won’t be going to it now after those horror stories ?.

We went from 30c on Monday at 6pm to people complaining of the cold last night at the football. It actually was to be fair, made a mockery of my shorts and necessitated a half time nip home for a pair of jeans.

It makes you worry that we may have already passed the point of no return climate change wise.
Shane on you for not taking a pic for us to prove it ;)

I have the same worry and fear what our kids lives are going to be like in a warmer world.
It’s simply too early in the summer for Everton. There’s too much to be enjoying without thinking about them
Agree. For the first time since following Everton I was oblivious about yesterday’s game and it seems it was for the best. I guess I consider myself lucky that last year’s US tour match that I attended was more successful.
My turn to cook todayand it was osso bucco of elk ( front leg chops) and I did it Moroccan style ,I also made the bread the author suggested -called Khobz .I wonder if that is where we get the word for small loaves ?)
Here it is and I really enjoyed it even though I didn't follow the recipe for Moroccan chicken to the "t"

Yummy, looks delicious.
Evening all, been a cloudy day here, which is great after all the heat but no sign of rain which is no so great. Decided to make use of the bus pass and took a trip to Oundle about 15 miles away. Had pizza for lunch, Mr G. chose Hawaiian “for a change”. I remarked that some on GOT consider pineapple on pizza to be sacrilege, his reply “Well, the chef must be one of them, cos there’s no pineapple on this” lol
Shame on the chef to deprived Mr. G of pineapple on a Hawaiian pizza, my favorite despite the dislike by some at this forum.
Walked to Barnwell Country Park on outskirts of Oundle here’s a couple of pics. View attachment 174500View attachment 174501View attachment 174502

Morning all. We have rain today. Quite welcome for the grass ( aka clover/dandelions/ buttercups that pretend to be a lawn). Haven't really done much since Tuesday. Was at the gym last night. Our PT ( who is also the gym owner) was very excited because a very successful bodybuilder had come to train in the gym while visiting one of the other gym members.

@roydo I made your salad. It was really good. Will be doing it again. Had it with some soy and chili calamari. Bought from Aldi. It's lovely.

No plans this weekend so overtime beckons. Have a good day everyone.
@roydo salad is one of my favorite ones, since learning his recipe I make it almost weekly. Soy abs chili calamari sounds tasty with it.

After consulting the weather forecast and seeing no rain for the next 2 weeks I spent almost 3 hours watering last night.

Rosie got me up at 5 and through my bleary eyes I saw we had some rain.

Got up at 6.30 and it been hammering down since then with no sign of letting up ...yay!
Murphy’s law ?

Im also still annoyed and frustrated about it, but those are feeling that Everton too regularly creates within us, unfortunately. However, I do think and hope that Frank will be able to lead us to a better path than last season, but it would be ideal if we could great signing before the season is over.

Happy Friday lovely people!

I’m so glad the week is almost over, the past couple of weeks I have been the busiest I’ve been at my new job but also the most satisfying. Yesterday we held an open house at the College, it is our biggest event of the year and I was one of the organizers so lots to do to make sure everything went well and I’m happy to say it was a success! However my feet are killing me, I walked yesterday 32,155 steps (the rest of the week I have averaged around 19,000), reason I didn’t make it to the gym this morning and taking full advantage of my break to visit you all before I have to head to another event this morning. As I mentioned I had no idea we played yesterday as my head has been occupied getting everything ready for yesterday’s event, and it is unfortunate that we lost this game too, but hopefully this preseason games will help Frank make decisions for the upcoming season. I’m still hopeful we can do better than last season, and hopefully continue improving on the field and also improve the financial mess we found ourselves in. Weather has been extremely hot here in Asheville too, yesterday I was wearing a backless dress and was wearing an adhesive strapless bra that it is the best invention since bra’s were created, except that my boobs were sweating like a pig so the sticky stopped working at the busiest time of the event so I had to run to the bathroom to dry my breast, thankfully that did the trick and I didn’t have to free the nipples for the event ? This weekend is supposed to be super hot too so we are planning going tubing, haven’t done it in a couple of years but it is a super fun activity on hot day as the rivers here are super cold so it will be refreshing. Given how busy my job is during the summer we are not going to be able to go on a holiday until September so I’m missing the ocean but at least we still have rivers to go to. That’s my report for the day. I hope everyone has a beautiful weekend. Much love to all mascoteers. Xxx
