Messi "best player of all time"

I'd place Messi in this hierarchy:

Maradona

Pelle

Cruyff/Zidane/Di Stefano

Ronaldo/Best/Messi/Puskas/Platini

Gullit/Stoichkov/Hagi

...that sort of area.
would put pele above maradona all day long, did it over a longer period and just a better player in my eyes.
Best at his peak and Cruyff above Zidane
Ronaldo or messi ?
Ronaldo for me, steps up to be counted when it counts

Truth is you can't really separate them , they are both indisputably great players who have played scintillating football.
It just comes down to personal preferences.
It's definately Messi for me. He plays for the team first and foremost and never gives up . He is also loyal.
Ronaldo plays for himself and himself alone and is a inveterate cheat.
Plus Messi wouldn't allow himself to be kicked out of a game by Phil Neville.

Should be best of there era really , these two are fresh in the memory, TV, social media all over them.
Game is different , no tackles from behind ect, pitches and sports science making them fitter.
Even the balls have changed, imagine Messi trying to fly passed a defender with a rain sodden Case ball at his feet, anybody old enough to play with one would tell you it was heavy anyway never mind wet and God forbid you headed it especially if it was on the lace,
Today's footballs are like balloons in comparison.
Let's face it none of really know how good the likes of Matthews, puskas ,carrricachia(the Brazilian don't know how you spell it)
Before are time and not enough footage to make a judgement.

Ronaldo for me is much better. So much talent in this pic

I think this is a myth personally. Ronaldo plays for the team every time he plays. It just so happens that he is the best part of the team so most of the play goes through him.

Ronaldo would not have accepted that performance last night.

As for loyalty, it is easy to be loyal when you have been at the biggest club in the world your whole career. 3 clubs in a long career is hardly disloyal. Messi also tried to retire from international football already too and he was still in his prime.

I agree that Messi would'nt be kicked out of a game by Neville though as he wouldn't dare try his hand in the premier league...

There is a distinct lack of non-attacking players in this list. I assume its just a list of attacking hierarchy?

Also Graziano Pelle is a useful player like but....

Ronaldo is obviously the goat and I'd even say he's better than Messi by some distance. He's three years older too but still outperforms his counterpart. He's been able to adapt his game as his career has progressed, yet maintained being the central point of every attack and still has an unbelievable goalscoring record. He is unselfish on the field, and a gentleman off it by all accounts. He might look like a div when he's ripping his shirt off celebrating, but tbh if I had that physique and knew I was that good and adored by millions I'd probably do the same.
