Just a quick one to get your thoughts guys on a topic that briefly came up in the boozer last night......
We where wondering and debating whether Everton should wear the purple kit in the Derbies this year as a mark of respect to Rhys Jones, his family and the Liverpool Unite charity who have done a great job in putting a really important message across!
Your thoughts?

Yeah, since it's Liverpool unites surely they're wearing it at some point? I thought that was the point.

I haven't heard of RS doing anything, perhaps if Everton wear the kit at home in the Derby it'll spark a response from them for the return at Anfield.

Surely wearing purple will clash with the blue or red and mean that the other team will have to wear their away kit.

Its a for a good cause like.

I think you may be right, the way these things seem to be judged nowadays. But things have changed a lot in that respect over the years - I found an old football annual of mine from the early 1970's & it had pictures of Celtic & Hibs playing in a cup final : both in their first kit!

I can imagine both teams sticking to first strips, but maybe everyone doing a photo-op in purple before KO, and then switching for the match. Given it clashes with both, the only alternative would be if RS did wear their white shirts (signifying surrender).
