It seems as though the FA/whoever is determined to ensure that the RS have the best chance of getting "the last laugh" every year.

For 9 years on the trot, we have played the goodison derby first - when we lose that, Liverpool have the perfect opportunity to do the double.

Even if we don't lose the goodison derby, our appalling record at anfield puts us at a yearly disadvantage.

If they plum for a 10th year with the goodison derby first, I'm going to write an official letter of complaint to the FA and both clubs to ask them (nicely) to stop bending to the will of the RS (allegedly).

We are the top dogs on merseyside, we should make them come down our gaff, imagine the "out for revenge" marketing on offer to sky sports - and maybe then we'd win a return derby for the first time since 1988!

it should be alternate, there is no excuse for it not be

Good post. It is mad that they've been in the same order for 9 years. Can't be just coincidence.

We could start a petition - 1-3 years here, then change, another 1-3, has to be random at least, not evidently fixed as it has been. This never happened in the 80s or 90s.

As long as we're at home last day of the season and have good xmas fixtures im not that bothered

It's 512/1 that if completely random the fixtures would have fell with the derby being played at goodison first, I personally think it is far more likely that the FA would favour the red****e and make them have the home fixture at the end of the season

We ask for it to be at home first.

Each club is given one 'preference' every year prior to the fixtureometer doing its thang. We always ask for home derby first. The ****e ask not to play on 15 April. Forest ask to avoid some huge local fayre or something like that.

i hate the merseyside derby, particularly more so in recent times. i always feel they'll be a blatant decision that will go against us allowing liverpool the advantage. the derby's turning me into a conspiracy theorist. (n)

I was going to suggest that this may be the case. Perhaps you should ask the club first before firing one off to the FA?

I wonder why playing at home first is requested by the club? Now we are neck and neck with them playing the second derby at home is a distinct advatage.

If we get on request, can we please start our season off with Chelsea, City and Spurs at home please, it'd be boss to win three games in August.

That's all great, except Everton ask for it that way.

Guys is this really a issue? I'm gonna be honest, it makes us sound bitter and looking for excuses on why we lose the derbies.
