What are your hopes for Sunday?

Will be an interesting game, 50-50 for me, could go either way. Missing Pienaar is a massive blow but Fellaini's return is a big boost. Liverpool obviously have a psychological advantage over Everton but not sure how Rodgers will approach the game. We know it will be in a positive mindset but you just never know with new managers. For example when Hodgson managed the derby it turned out to be a complete disaster for Liverpool. A lot will depend on how Moyes approaches the game though, IMO he should look to be positive rather than his usual cautious approach in derby's (particularly with the new manager). To sum up, I think Liverpool have the stronger first XI sp are slight favorites but a lot will depend on how each manager approaches the game, and obviously who gets that little bit of luck on Sunday.

Are you pleased with Rodgers so far? Are you glad you got rid of Kenny?

Reina

Kelly
Jagielka
Agger
Baines

Mirallas
Gerrard
Fellaini
Pienaar

Suarez
Jelavic

For the first time ever in these things I almost didn't place Gerrard in the midfield. He hasn't done it for a long time. Arguably only the derby against us last year.

Xavi Allen and Gibson were close to replacing him. Mirallas is the more finished product compared to Sterling but it is a close call.

Liverpool fans would have Lucas and Allen ahead of everyone ever though. ^^

I can't really decide at the moment, I dislike Suarez but have to say he would be one of the forwards. *cough*

I know it's not the 4 4 2 as the requested but 1 2 3 4.

Jelavic in the front with
Fellaini and Suarez just behind.
I like to see Fellaini further forward and bullying defenders - hate to F & S with J would be terrible to defend against.

Midfield 3 of Mirallas Allen Pienaar

Defence Johnson Jagielka Agger Baines.

To sum up, I think Liverpool have the stronger first XI

If that's true, why are you so far behind us in the league, and why did you finish behind us over 38 games last season.

I don't think you have a better first 11 than us.

You are right that you have a psychological advantage over us, but that's our fault, not anything you have done over the last seven years or so.

It might do the trick, yet again, at the weekend for you though.

This is goal.com's Merseyside 11. I think this will give us a better idea than us (slightly) biased fans lol :)

6 Liverpool players to Everton's 5

(3-5-2) - Howard; Johnson, Skrtel, Jagielka, Agger, Baines; Allen, Fellaini, Gerrard; Suarez, Jelavic

It's pretty much based on form so I can't really argue with the chosen players to be honest..........

this is almost as stupid as your theory. When have any of the two teams played 3-5-2 formation? they've just done that to get extra liverpool players in. Skrtel is not as good as distin or heitinga IMO, he had a good season last season, but still was not good as heitinga. Also on what planet do they see gerrard as on form this season? been tosh every time i've seen him
