yeah but how? How did they know that what they saw in the sky was a planet and not a moon or another star from another galaxy? I'm hooked, i'm going to get a loft conversion and star gaze.

Well they didn't really.

We know of them now because of our technology but back then they called Mercury, Mars and Venus planets(derived from some word, cant remember what) but that was just because they saw them as objects in the sky that moved across the sky.

A planet (from Greek πλανήτης, alternative form of πλάνης "wanderer")

They were seen as "wandering" stars that moved relative to other stars.

I don't know, belief system. I'm reading a really good book at the moment which documents the worship of the sun (not on Merseyside) throughout the ancient cultures, it's amazing.

Anyway, that didn't help clearly but just wanted to share.

The ancient cats were massively developed in some things that we couldn't comprehend.

See what he did there ???

Definitely. You choose your own path and beliefs.

Some of the ancient lids, like listed there, had some ingenius ideas and practices.

Anyone been to Cairo? Wow. Giza plateau is superb but the Cairo Museum is one of the most amazing places on the planet.[/QUOTE]

Is it better than Wally Hall Park - In the Summer . Walton Festival time - ???

I's gonna find me mercury on my new phone, and then pluto and then I's gonna say to mrs b.o.g. "look at this, and you just know I's gonna take a picture of uranus"

have we had enough uranus gags yet.

or is it oo-ra-nus, that was feckin hilarious when they tried to rename it like that, spitting image where straight onto it, with the discovery of a new planet 'bomm-ho-lay,'
