Media attitude towards Everton.

We aren’t David Moyes’ ‘plucky little Everton’ anymore who certain pundits and journalists can pat on the head and say ‘well done for staying in your lane lads’.

This is the doing of Kenwright & Moyes this. Years and years and years of knives to gunfights have brainwashed everyone into thinking we are some small time club who should be lucky to even be in this league and should appreciate negative ginger meffs like Moyes.

It was the same when Moshiri took over, the same media journalists advocating for the likes of Moyes, Howe or Wilder were in overdrive writing articles about how Everton may be selling their soul and how Bill Kenwright is the true saviour of Everton and epitomises everything right about the club.

I for one am sick of the small time mentality this sleeping giant has had to endure under Bill Kenwright’s tenure.

I just wish now we can start putting our practises into action properly and hoping this Ancelotti appointment finally gives us the push we badly need to crack on and get back up with to where we truly belong.

nah mate. More simple than that. The media is overrun with RS, who will get in digs at every opportunity. That’s it.

fair point, I wasn't saying it was the only thing, its a combination of things.

these 2 points, along with the mediocrity of the last 20 years, and the farcical management at board level.

all we can do is smile and hope for the best

its almost as if we were never called the mersey millionaire and won the international team of the years award in the mid 80's. people laugh when you bring those points up but still cite the achievements of forest villa and Liverpool from the same era!

We ain't liked that much are we,just watching Bt early kick off and just negativity from all the panel regarding ancelotti, hopefully we can shut all these morons up in the near future.

You wait...
The big six is the big 7 as of next summer

No way Sky leave out Don Carlo when analysing top six.
The sky pundits especially Merson think he’s only taken the job for the money. Merson really can’t believe why he would even look at us if it wasn’t for the money and we won’t attract any big name players and will be looking at players from Southampton and Watford’s level.
Merson really is an a hole of the highest order

There are certain bits of he media (Sky, 'pool echo) who employ people with obvious bias, most of the others just lump Everton in with the rest outside their chosen top 5 clubs. They give as little respect to us as they do to the rest of the prem who are there apparently to make up the numbers. It will not change until the club win something meaningful consistently. We live in a world where teenagers tell me what it was like to live in the 80s! History counts for little these days.

Outside of that, most press and fans seem well disposed towards the club in my experience.

There are two media darlings, United and the RS, it’s always been that way regardless of how both are doing. The rest come and go depending where they are in the league (Chelsea had a few years in the sun with Jose, now they are back to being just another London club).

Unfortunately we got crap just as the Premier League began, so the initial big six we were part of has become a distant memory.
