Interesting to note that , just like Owen , no one has taken a punt on him.

Why can't footballers just retire gracefully and count their money ?

Because he's 29 and still has at least 4 or 5 years left at a decent level of football?

Maybe he's expecting too much in wages? Owen particularly seems to regard himself as the top international footballer he was 10 years ago rather than the injury prone, uninterested has-been he is now. If some of these players were more realistic in their wage demands maybe they'd find clubs.

Ahhh McFadden's goals against Chartlon, Fulham and that team we played in a UEFA Cup qualifier.

Not the greatest of players but could really pull out some crackers at times.

I'll forever remember him for the 4-0 win against Leeds in 2004, when Watson bagged a couple. He looked like he deserved "the Scottish Rooney" tag in that match.

An old fella in town thought I was McFadden that evening, I remember... weird.

Eh Watson bagged a hattrick in that match mate, lest we forget.

a player who was never scared of trying something different on the pitch....shame he just wasn't consistent. Not the worst player, not the best player...but he gave us some good moments. Bit like Bily
