BlueLlama
10/11/17 TWAIN CRUSH DAY
Now I have always had a bit of a problem with the likes of McDs and Coke being official sponsors of a sporting event for obvious reasons. I am not naive and know that stupid money must be passing hands but what is being reported now has really p1ssed me off.
In the build up to the next World Cup FIFA have told Brazilian authorities that no street vendor can operate within 2 km of any stadium in order to protect the rights of prinicipal food and drink sponsors, namely McDs and Budweiser.
Having spent 5 years living in Brazil this sickens me beyond belief. Forget what you are reading about Brazil's economic boom - half the population lives in poverty that Europeans and North Americans on benefits/welfare can't comprehend. One of the few legitimate ways of making money they have is by selling stuff on the street from stalls or just off tables.
So not only are the people who most need it being denied a chance to cash in, those who would normally sell in these areas are actually being denied their regular income.
If any of you lot are lucky enough to get to Brazil swerve going to the stadium for food. Not only will you b e helping the people who need it by buying from the locals you will get the full experience - why the [Poor language removed] would you want to eat the same McDs gunk you can get here when you are in South America is beyond me.
Where will these soulless bastards stop?
