Maybe we could do with Scott Parker?

In a nutshell I will place the answer of "NO". He chased higher wages as opposed to career progression. He is injury prone and sulks. I am not saying he is not a good player, but I am saying that he has the wrong attitude to be a toffee.

If you would have asked me a couple of seasons ago I would have said "YES". I put him in the Tony Hibbert bracket. He would have been a useful addition back then, but we have improved greatly since that time and I don't believe he could step up to the mark anymore. I expect more from a player to be honest and he cannot offer it. Moyes has created a justifiable higher expectation. Like suits said somewhere else today "I WANT MORE"

had his chance to join us and wear the famous everton shirt. As I remember he was more concerned about making the same kind of money he was on at Stamford bridge - and turned his nose up at us. Luckily newcastle are there in the league to weed out mercenaries (why else would you play for such a [Poor language removed] club) so they snapped him up on 60k a week.

Now he is at west ham, who also have a policy of paying stupid wages in order to secure ambition lite players (lucas Neil, Upson, Bowyer, Dyer, - they matched dyers 90k a week wages by all accounts, not bad for a player that manages 15-20 games a season).

Moyes has been an admirer for a long time. Parker knows this, but is really just concerned about money. We could do with someone with more ambition and drive - Parker had the chance to play for a young manager who twice has won manager of the year awards - and has built a team frugally from the bottom up , a team in the ascendancy.

He just doesn't give a monkeys about all that. Cash is what gets him out of bed.

Honestly with their new chairman, west ham are the new idiots with money in the premiership. Watch a host of talented but unambitious names drift to West Ham for the easy ride; a midtable finish in a squad of about 35 players (half all on the sick) all drawing at least 70k a week. What a doss.

No mercenaries at Everton.

Outstanding post, couldnt agree more

the definitive thread closing post. that also has a nice comparison with ourselves and west ham after our two games.

i just want to add to that that it was our champions league entry season he turned us down. so even the lure of champions league football was not enough for that toe rag.

"parker, what's the score? parker, parker what's the score?!"

jesus, teppic you're right.

What a waster.

I remember being particularly gutted about Emre as well. Not exactly uprooting trees in the north west is he?

I guess playing for a up an coming team in europe isn't enough for him, shows you his ambition is so small and all he want is money, now he could stay in West Ham who is going no where, oh, he could be gone again soon as West Ham sold there players all the time!

always wanted to see the lad in an everton shirt.

horrible **** for that challenge on nev though.

i hope he gets run over by a bus.

perhaps not the greatest time to use such a phrase, some 84 year old geezer got ran over on wednesday. which is an awful shame - i expect repercussions - especially if the media can pin it on our traveling support.

as for parker, he can have a dose of what terry got yesterday.
