Apparently slotted straight in to the leeds squad and was a part of their 1-1 draw the other day.

Manager seems keen.

Good.

He's a solid CB who was thrown in at the deep end last season. He was sound for the 23's but it's still a massive step up. Prior to that, I believe the highest level he'd played at was League 1 with Coventry a few seasons ago. Won Young Player of the Year there and all.

22 now, Championship will be the right division for him. Playing next to that Pontus will help him as he's dead good.

I want him.

It's soooo much better to have the finances to not have to sell.

I saw Mustafi a couple of times in the reserves & barely noticed him. I wasn't at all bothered when Moyes sold him. If we'd loaned him out, we'd have a £40M player now.

Loaning out really is a no brainer. Costs nothing if the wages are covered & barring disaster, the player will almost always increase in value.

He was also not long back from a long term injury at the time, but injuries to Coleman and Mori forced our hand. Was undone by Liverpool movement in particular, but in fairness they did that to most of the top teams last season so nothing to be ashamed of there.

Leeds fans in twitter seemed please to have him too. Hope he does well. Five years ago he would probably have had a future at Everton, but not where we are heading now.

There's still every chance the lad can make it. It makes no sense to buy for buying sake if you have better in the youth system.

Plenty of time ahead of him.

Hope so mate. Certainly think he could have a premier career. he's a very clever lad and you can see that in his game. Also seems to be a good organiser and leader (at U23 level anyway). I just feel he's lacking that little bit of pace and ball skills to play for a top 4 side, which is hopefully where we're heading.
